So, I'm back after quitting in late 2011 shortly after the 95-cap went in. I'm mostly here to tour Adoulin and see the wrap-up, but I'd like to continue my Masamune if it's something reasonable with the ilvl system now.

If I spend some time getting my ilvl up, will Voidwatch become something that is soloable with decent gear? I'm expecting to have very limited assistance, as nearly everyone with whom I did end-game events has left in the interim.

Also, what's the Adoulin-equivalent of Perle gear these days? I hear everything I have is garbage now.

Check out Records of Eminence to start with. You can get basic i117 armor/weapons from that via Sparks, which you can probably get a bunch of in a few minutes from things you've already done (unlocking jobs, doing AF, etc). Objectives like that will just auto-complete once you pick them. You may want to swap to a job that can use XP before doing that.

Adoulin also has gear you can buy with Bayld, which you earn doing coalition assignments and reives. There are several tiers of armor and weapons, but the highest level ones are i117 as well. You can slightly augment the armor with fixed HP/MP values, and the weapons have nice latents in reives. You'll want to be doing coalition assignments either way to build Adoulin standing, necessary for mission progress/WKR access.

Mostly though, it's gonna be the Sparks stuff that you can go get in a few minutes to start out with. You can also use the sparks to buy REM chapters to upgrade AF/Relic/Empyrean.

Yeah. Ilvl being as it is, gear that was statted for 99's pre-Adoulin is generally "rank beginner" gear for Adoulin.

Think of Adoulin as being 100-119, where instead of exp, you're gearing up (although they also added what's called "capacity points" for what's basically another merit-style system). The 117ish gear you can get (Eminent weapons, armor sets) for sparks are good generic starters. If you've got Sea access, you can upgrade oldschool AF/Relic to at least 109, and as soon as you do one of a small multitude of wins, unlock 119 upgrade options as well. Abyssea AF3 can be upgraded easily to 109, and with some alliance level fights (Vagary) it too can be upgraded to 119. Adoulin itself has some solid 115-119 options that show up in various small-scale (single party) content too.

Basically if you can be a good DD as a BST then you should probably parse first in most events you do.

Unfortunately, I have no clue why most BSTs don't fight with their pets. I just did skirmish with a JP BST who was amazing, but he never fought with his pet. He used the HQ lizard and would AoE 1 rape mobs with fireball, and beat everyone except my BLU in the parse, but if he simply meleed he'd have come out on top. He honestly must have had some really good pet gear, but still the pets are OP.

SE doesn't know the meaning of balance. If they gave the pets 75% of the boost they did then it be much better.

He probably wasn't meleeing because of how it is now. With using fireball every 10 seconds being in non master gear when doing it and more importantly constantly losing tp from weapon swaps meleeing loses some appeal

Actually think cactuar might do better for unleash because dmg can go high and self lighting assuming it survives lol. Really depends on what you are fighting should try to take advantage of correlation. Bouncy bertha is pretty great dmg. As are lizard if you got pet mab sets

Yeah I almost never melee with my pet, especially in skirmish. Precast merlin -> kerecahtl midcast -> Iziz aftercast means I'm always losing TP. And to not swap axes means shitty offhand damage from non-ilvl weapon or adding 5s to ready timer. Both of which are shitty for increasing damage.

Haha no needleshot wont hit shit since Amigo Sabotender has a base cap of lvl 75.



Dmg is kind of weird though so not sure if it can stay that high but self darkness I think

Maybe I'm wrong but I've always assumed there is a clear pattern in the repetition of the temporary RoEs?
If so, anybody can link me to a page or a table explaining how this repetition works, so I can know when a certain temporary RoE is gonna happen next?

Yesterday (wednesday) some friends asked me to join them in a CP pt and I couldn't do that because I was busy with other stuff, and I know I was pretty mad because the "Experience Points" temporary RoE had just activated (8:00 PM GMT)

You have to remember that these times I believe were originally given in JST and a chart like that will have errors when you put in other times zones when it's at a time after one time zones game changes but before the others does. So like if you look at the chart it says xp should activate at 8pm gmt Thursday... well it was 8 pm gmt and had was 5am Thursday in japan <.<. That's why I've actually been working on a pst list and making sure it's right and might just make separate charts to make it more clear

Any tips for trying to solo the final genkai with Trusts? If I pack enough olde rarab tails, can I forego a tank for more DPS? What about foregoing heals for DPS? SAM's probably my best damage output (90 Masamune) but I also have BLU, RDM, and SCH 90+ that I can use if a support role is more useful.

Also, which Trusts are good picks for damage? I have only the ones that're currently available.

If you have enough rarab tails you need zero healing or tanking. Didn't realize you can use trusts in there... not sure what is currently available. Can you say which DD/buffer ones you have?

Japan is GMT + 9 hrs and the wiki chart doesn't account for days changing when it's past mid-night in Japan. 8pm-11pm GMT Sunday is actually 5am-8am JST Monday. But on the Chart both times are listed as Monday. So the wiki chart is right you just need to account for the day change. 5am-8am JST Thursday (Gain EXP) is 8pm-11pm Wednesday GMT.
