Having very little play time pushed me away from the game, it became a chore to keep up. I'm likely to have some free time coming up so I'm thinking of coming back to at least close out the final story lines. I do enjoy the gameplay and between me and my two homegrown alts, I had plenty of fun challenging myself. The idea of the game not progressing to where I can be at my extreme leisure is an intriguing one.

I haven't kept up much but I've got a hopefully simple question: The talk of the game "dying" in November is referring to no more content updates and the consoles being scrapped, yes? The servers/game doesn't have an end date of yet?

Right. There's been no announcements that the game is going to be closed down, only that major content changes end in November.

At this point, "keeping up" isn't rough. Yorica Alluvion Skirmish is soloable, so you can have a set of solid, augmentable 119 gear with a little patience and augmenting it is just gil at this point (plus you get stones in Yorica as well).

gonna give my first skirmish solo a go on blu when I get home from work, so for yorcia on 111 it's basically construct stockade, kill mobs/dens if I can get to them, find heartwing and kill if I can, profit?

also my ilvl is 117, am I gonna get owned? oh and do the reive occ att twice weapons work in there for my offhand?

Free week coming up again which I will come back for to do the Rhapsodies storyline. I finished SoA storyline during the last free week.

I farmed full set of AF1 - ilvl 119 for my Paladin, by soloing a bunch of ark angles during one of the free weeks. Should AF1 119 be good enough for Rhapsodies story? Really don't want to farm any more gear or anything but like to see how FFXI will end.

I see SnK around but he's always afk when I poke 'em in port jueno. As for other old people, I honestly have no idea. I have seen notedls or w/e around before.

thats 6 months away. if there is barely population left on bismarck i would change to asura (did the same). there is a huge difference concerning pug shouts

They only have 1-2 trusts available via log in points at a time and switch thru them. D shantotto was available in the last one which ended a few days ago. They are very Disney vault about trusts

@Mert: There are still a few familiar names here and there, but it seems like nearly everyone from Fairy Sylph has moved on. I can't imagine it is any more exciting than Bismarck. About 400 people online when I'm usually online.

Personally, I like the quiet, but it can make some things more difficult to get groups for.

Ironically, Asura's getting more population because 1) Facebook and 2) Since it's alphabetical, people didn't give a shit just clicked on the first available name. Lo and behold, Asura has a higher server population.
