Awesome. It was out of date for a long time and now it's modernized and proper once again. It's smart community player efforts like this that make FFXI stand out from most crummy MMORPGs.

What exactly does the mass extractor do, how does it work? It extracts things to xml files?

Yeah, in the normal data browser there is a "Export to XML" function when you view any spell table, dialog, mob list, etc - mass extractor pulls all of those.

The normal mode just pulls known files, takes about 3-5mins. If you add the -full-scan flag when running it from command line, it'll scan every file, and figure out how to extract them if it's a readable type like any of the menu listed files, or any image (armor dats, maps, charts, etc), just one downside: -full-scan takes me about 8-10 hours to run, on my admittedly not-brand-new computer.

    MassExtractor.exe [-full-scan] <output folder>

    to run it.

Fixed a small mistake that would cause crashes when trying to view armor stats, reuploaded.

The top of the window will say "PlayOnline Utilities 0.9.9.2 (r799)" once you're on the correct version.

Is it the DXTC compression that's adding the checkered look to the textures, or just the way the software views them?

Had a random crash when I tried doing a file save from a texture earlier. Not been able to reproduce it since then unfortunately.
