Pacific Rim (July 12th, 2013)

[Tomino]

Random speculations:

Spoiler: show

If I remember one of the earlier plots that surfaced on the internet months ago correctly, once Gipsy Danger is almost destroyed (which is spoiled in the trailer itself), Jax Teller switches team mate and turns to an old Jaeger (which could be Romeo Blue at this point). Plotwise, it feels like the usual "underdog becomes the true winner", but it could be completely false.

Or it could go the Gundam route, and have the main character get an upgraded suit halfway through the story. Maybe a US/Japan co-designed Jaeger, whose design we still know nothing about.

We were actually discussing Jaeger types, linking various movie Featurettes and a comic book page. Plus, picking the most nefarious australian Kaiju.

Don't mistake excitement for mad dummy lol. They could make the Jaeger out of an old Chevy Nova and a trash compactor and I would still be excited!

If those pics imply that an intelligent entity is sending these beasts rather than dumb monsters coming to earth through a hole in the ground, I am infinitely more interested.
