Why do the super robots require two pilots? This movie looks awesome as fuck but that part looks strange and unnecessary; seems like they're forcing an extra mechanic to set them apart from other movies with similar story structures(mecha anime comes to mind).

Something to the effect that one mind wasn't enough to control the entire robot without spazzing or something. One pilot controls each side, and the need to be synced, like in Eva. With Shinji/Asuka against angel 4? (I don't remember the numbers)

More like the human brain is divided into two hemispheres. From what I've seen there has to be some compatibility between the two pilots... w/e, can't wait.

I have seen plenty actually, and was just telling a friend of mine how surprised I was. On USA mostly, if I remember correctly.
