Just back from watching. Well worth buying in bluray.
Moses had a Jaeger, true story.

I agree with moar screen time.
But then it'd be too long, and it was already pushing it as it was. Honestly, I don't think I'd change a thing with this film lol.
Would have enjoyed seeing more of the Russian and Chinese Jaegers fight. Other then that I loved the movie. A few cheesy lines , but nothing over the top. Del Torro did an amazing job.
Any future giant monster / monster sci-fi will be compared to this movie. The standard has been set. Smooth fights, great close ups and the sfx on the cities were great.
Pfff I had a Jaeger too
Spoiler: show
I'm hoping for a 4hr extended edition Bluray where all the extra scenes are Jaegers fighting.. Do it del Toro, don't be a bitch!
Read a few reviews and some people are ripping this movie apart. One dude on comicbookmovies.com seemed to imply transformer movie was better.
This is the closest we've gotten to a live action gundam movie.
Watch a sequel not even involve Kaiju. It's will just be a world war Jaeger arms race.
I'm ok with that.
Or genetically engineered Kaiju's made by humans battling Jaegers for world domination :D.
I'm surprised nobody has posted about how insanely slow the whole middle of the movie was. Did nobody else feel that way? After they finally got into the Jaegers because 2 of those things came it picked up again but the whole part between the intro of the movie and that part was boring, boring, boring.
It felt a little slow, yes, but it wasn't anything unbearable. They had to build up the characters somewhat, and the part with the scientist drifting kept things somewhat interesting.
I touched on it, it was slow but necessary. From that relatively small part of the movie we pretty much got every important characters motivation and enough of a back story to make it believable. It was almost too long, but not quite.
See, I feel it wasn't slow because a lot of the things that could have dragged on didn't.

Looks like the pre-order price for the 18 inch GD is around $80-90 USD, depending on retailer.
Also, the merchandise side of things are going swell apparently: the figures are moving fast (pretty much all of /m/ has bought at least one Jaeger). Now to see how the box office numbers for China and Japan fare.
