I have decided to take cooking back up since letting it go at 83 a long time a go, times have changed and there is probably hundreds of new recipes since then so I was wondering if there is any up to date cooking leveling guides or just some recipe ideas to help me with the process? I'd just use the recipe browse section of ffxiah. Supplies of stuff will vary alot between servers.

I got interested in it for it yielding ore's that I need for my Goldsmithing(fire ore,dark ore,etc..) and was doing a bit of research but couldnt quite understand it completely, so if anyone has experience on it here please hit me up here or on PM.

I am pretty sure gardening is pretty dead now. Doesn't it take weeks to get an ore? They're dirt cheap on the AH, you're better off farming gold boxes and NMs in the first set of Abyssea zones.

The above answer is right. It's not worth your time. For example, Tree saplings (not cuttings) are 80k/stack on ah. (slyph) They take about 4 weeks to grow, and you get 1-2 ores out of ten plants. The most expensive ore right now on slyph is water ore, which is 60k each. So at best you save 40k and wait a month to get a a second ore. It's going to be faster to gold box farm for ore drops, and npc the crap and just buy ores from ah. A lot faster.

However, if you still have your heart set on it, the path is tree saplings > crystal > crystal > harvest. They can be found in the harvesting section of their particular pages on wiki.

Impetus up: generally tantra +2 ( for tp). But if you are capped on STR, attack and accuracy, ie if the stats on tantra are wasted except augment impetus, thaumas is (very slightly, like 0.5%~1%) better. The moment you need a bit of those 12 str 3 acc 15 att, tantra is better.

Feet: they are about the same (less than 0.3% difference), with tantra having an advantage when the accuracy matters, and thaumas when the dex/attack matters.

Thaumas hat is generally the best for victory smite during impetus, unless your critical hit rate is retardedly high ( capped dDEX, ie abbysea or weaklings:60%+ crit rate), or attack/acc are not capped. Otherwise shura kabuto +1 augmented with STR, ATT and WSdmg is still #1.

as far as TPing goes, thaumas hat+body is the best out of impetus, while situational during impetus ( the situation being capped attack acc and str)

Quick several questions regarding PDT and MDT.

1) If I'm reading it right from wiki, magic damage taken caps @ -50% and this includes values from shell as well? So one needs around -26% MDT gears with normal shell 5, and only -21% MDT gears fully merited shellra 5?

2) PDT caps @ -50% but it's not reduced from protect ?

Just did valkurm on mnk with a thf and got 284 currency. Am I missing something on how to do better? I can't imagine how some bsts are getting 250+ by themselves, without TH, and it's driving me insane.

Whoever told you that is full of shit. No competition, and a good night, ill hit 200. Normal haul for me is 150 as a solo bst. And this is with good gear.

It is not bullshit. 220-250 coins per run is normal for me as a solo BST in valkurm with moderate competition.
