Ranged Mythic OA2-3 is double/triple damage
Is there anyway to make FFXI not crash when you open any other program/game that's full screen?
Anybody found a way to make Xbox360 Wireless Controller work 100% with FFXI?
As most of you probably know, Xbox360 default drivers are pretty sucky, and if you try to use it with FFXI (dinput) the two triggers (analogic shoulder buttons) won't get recognized as digital buttons and so you won't be able to use it.
I found a way to overcome this on my old PC where I have a wired Xbox360 pad, but on my new PC I have a new wireless X360 controller, the same solution I used on the old PC doesn't work, so I was wondering if anybody else found a way to make the wireless controller work completely with FFXI.
I'm still a bit new to the search function. I just had a PC built and went to install ffxi and found out my case only held the disk for the manuals. So I bought it from steam and was wondering where I need to install windower to get it to work. (Like I said, new to the search function....searched and within the first few posts--which were mostly from the do you have an ffxi account thread in spam--I found out that "windower works with steam faggot" and "war only subs sam" I had a quick laugh and figured now would be a good time for my first random question)
Few questions. Wife just started working on her SAM again, and started the TP Bonus GK. How does that compare to other GKs? I thought it beat masa, but I've been hearing mixed reviews now.
Also, I know a DRG 5 hit set has been posted here like 3 times, but I have not been able to find it. So looking for best DRG 5 hit and Stardiver set.
Thanks!
Edit: Current Polearm is OAT, and working on getting Odin's
I use a wired version of 360 controller, and was never able to truly map the controller buttons to what I wanted for the reason that you mentioned about the analog triggers would not work correctly. I ended up just remapping the entire button lay out without the use of those two triggers. It took some getting used to, but I just mapped what the rear triggers would have been (macro list if going by PS2 layout) to the front triggers and moved what would have been on the front triggers (autorun basically) to the start button.
So short answer, no it doesnt work completely without remapping the controller to avoid the use of the analog triggers that I found.
In regards to getting the controller to not work while playing another game, I have the same issue. Disabling the controller via ffxiconfig does not work at all, the other game still wont recognize the controller for some reason unless ffxi is not running. Have yet to find a way around it and gave up trying.
Been shanghai'ed into playing again just to help out for Neo-Limbus since friends were struggling for numbers. Is there any decent guides/set-ups for it? Afaik nobody knows anything about it amongst these friends and the last time I played it didn't exist so I'm clueless. Yet somehow I have to lead it.
So yeah, any help hugely appreciated!
(We have like 6-7 people discouting mules and should be able to cover pretty much any job combo with competent players/gear)
Well it's also situational. Like say vw where you often overtp and get wings and get to use your jas and such tp bonus's tp bonus doesn't do as much or anything sometimes while conversely keeping up am3 on masa is cake
Patch notes for the March update state that the Olde Rarab Tail item now causes Terror. Does the Taru actually stand still now, making him more melee-burn'able?
BG wiki actually has pretty solid info written on the 2 new floors and bosses. Only problem I've noticed is that in Temenos, I've always started on the opposite side that BG's map has show, but everything else was correct.
Yeah, I'm thinking mainly outside VW or abyssea where a slight difference in gear won't mean much (as far as winning or losing) compared to just playing correctly. I'm thinking more like New Odin / Ultima or anything else big they would add that we can't just zerg down in 2 minutes with atma's and temps.
Here is something: https://www.bg-wiki.com/bg/Limbus
The two starting zones are nothing special. Meleeburn them, and watch out for Deathly Gaze from the Ahriman boss. Keep in mind that everyone in the zone gets a KI when you clear it, so if you clear the Metal Chip Temenos zone once with 18 people, you could kill Arch-Ultima 18 times in a row before you have to repeat it.
Arch-Omega has a 100% DA rate and doubles up TP moves. PLD it up and kill it with low enmity DDs like Anni rangers and summoners. Gunpods no longer drop anything, but they do blow up and do substantial damage if you let them stick around too long. They don't show up very frequently. Either sac them or Migawari them away. You can probably kill it with about a party.
Arch-Ultima is really easily summoner burned. He has a single target instant death TP move that he uses at predictable percentages and you can avoid by running away. He also uses CB as a normal TP move now. I don't know much about how a normal group would handle this fight. We just pull out 5 Garudas and Ramuhs and BP it ~once every 45 seconds for about 20 minutes. He's even less resistant to magic damage (at least from merit BPs) than Proto-Ultima. It was kind of funny to have to switch back to physical BPs on Proto after doing nothing but Wind Blade spam on Arch.
Thanks a lot, really appreciated!
(I had looked on BG wiki and read everything on there but there wasn't really any indication of difficulty or set-ups to use.)
You can avoid PLD tanks and use MNK 2x Counterstance tanking for Arch omega. Make sure each has formless for the first 25% and don't nuke until they do at least one Light SC with each other (VS > VS works). After the first SC, you can do subsequent SCs for MBing from the BLM. Once he hits 25%, you basically focus cures/paralynas on the MNKs and have the BLM kills pods.
What are the best ways to go about skilling weapons now? The fortalices are good for getting to around 250ish but I kill them way too fast now, and my Club/Staff skills are both around 320 anyway.
