Chatoyant's will have the same magic accuracy as all the individual HQ staves would. I'm curious about what you meant by "how bullshit the new enfeebling system is."

I'm brainfarting right now. Did the HQ staves have MACC on them also? I'm looking at the wiki and seeing the new staff has MagPotency/MACC, where-as the elemental staves is just MagPotency, unless there's a conflict of the usage of "Magical Potency" on the wikis.

As for the bullshit, I'm referring to situations on NMs that normally resist the fuck out of them, requiring you to spam relevant debuffs until you hit tier 2/3 immunobreak before you have a chance of landing something.

Magic Potency = Magic Accuracy. We also use potency to mean sets that enhance the effect of a debuff (MND in particular), but that's a different type of potency.

My monitor died over the weekend and I've had to dig out an old CRT box to play on until I can get a replacement, the problem is all of the menus now seem to be vertically squashed. Plugin text (TParty etc) is either too high or too low depending on where it should be in relation to the text/menus on screen. I'm sure in the past I just set the overlay and background resolutions to be the same and everything's worked out fine- any help at all would be great.

NB: I'm trying to run the game at 1024x768, all the windower GUI settings are set to those numbers- maybe that's the problem ?

EDIT: Nevermind, fixed my own problem- Regedit is magic.

I have 5/5 Affinity and Monster Gloves. Dipper jug is level 76. Does this mean Dipper spawns level 76 and then goes to 86 with merits? Does it mean he spawns level 97 or 99? If he spawns 97 or 99 what is the point of affinity?

I'm super confused.

Pets cap at different levels. Beast Affinity raises the cap for each pet by 2 levels per merit point. If your level is equal to or less than the cap level, the monster just spawns with the normal -2 to -0 behavior. I don't know what the jugs cap at.

Each jug pet has a cap. You can see the level cap of each jug here:

Beast affinity raises that cap. So there would be no impact on Yuly, which already has a cap at 99. However, the raptor has a cap of 94, so beast affinity merits are necessary to increase the level of the pet spawned.

Once the max level of the pet is determined (via the lower of either <pet cap+merit boost> or your job level), the mob may spawn at either that level, 1 level below, or 2 levels below. Relic gloves remove the chance of it spawning 2 levels below. So call beast with relic gloves on a 99 cap jug would only spawn a level 99 or 98, never a 97.

Presto Julio might have some strategic use, so he'd be 3 merits. I feel pretty comfortable with 0 merits, though.

probably try bst since the guide says it can solo np. just makes things simpler than trying to worry about cells on 2 characters.

I’ve gone solo bst 3 times.

2 times I made it to the boss but with not enough time to kill. Although both times I got that far, I wasn’t very lucky with cells. I think at the very least you need Ability/ranged/HP before you should go to the south room for the first NM.
3rd time I got lucky on cells (HP/Ability/Ranged in starter chest) and I died on the first floor with no RR. Couldn’t get up the teleport with all those fomors on me. Saved a ton of time on that floor too :/

Also, when I go with 2 others…its really easy cell wise. Everyone just lots/passes what they need. no need to delegate.
