Nope none. If you don't mind slow-as-fuck skill ups, Rocl's Klimaform + Dread Spikes would work. You can afk @ Abyssea-Emp with refresh atmas. Otherwise, Radec's idea is the best idea.

No. Also Your rank has nothing to do with wether you can skillup or not on a mob. If you can cap your C rating skill you can cap your A rated skill on it.

Doing kilaform + storms on BLM for dark and enhancing while AFK. Better than nothing.

But yeah, will check out the worm thing, else, I need to get some WS merits anyway.

You can "afk" dark skill ups on worms. Just make an alarm to notify you when you defeat the mob so you can change mobs.

Is there a "sweet spot" with amber lights for farming augmented Dark Rings?

Seemingly getting more at ~120 amber than I usually do capped... due to less key items and temps... but it could be placebo...

With portho's byrnie as my body, how would I 5/6 hit Ukon on WAR without Nyzul gear while keeping 26% haste and not exceeding etc? Having a hard time finding the perfect haste set up without going 2-3% over haste cap and wasting slots with the byrnie.

Is there a way to fix the problem in FFXI where your game will randomly just stop playing sounds/only play like 3 sounds at once? Like, I'll be in Abyssea, and I'll near no sounds but the occasional WS/cast/background sound.

Working as intended.

The discussion that matters, is do your augments get better with higher amber? If you farming rings for gil, you don't care, but if you want a -pdt ring, then it does.

I got both my refresh hairpins with max amber, but that is ancedotal at best. I haven't seen anyone try to farm light just to compare augments at different amber levels. It seems logical though that the augments are simply random, and keeping your amber in the 80-120 range will increase your rings without giving you as many KI.

Does anyone use any special strategies to get into JP shouts? lol normally I avoid the jumped up pricks like a plague but I am mostly online during their prime these days so its really my only access to that content. Explaining the fact I am a veteran player with decent gear and have all key items with auto translate doesn't work, and I am pretty sure they could detect translated japanese miles off lol.

Just came back after a year of not playing.. some random crap I can't remember.

There was a way to see ???'s before they spawned
How to use a JA, magic spell, etc, without stopping (i could use flee without stopping and seeing the animation)
I remember there used to be a guide for how to get the best graphics available in FFXI via settings, can't find it~

Has anyone else been having excessive z-fighting since the update? (re. polygon flickering)

I haven't had this problem in years, and I didn't touch anything since the update on my end. I know XI used to have this problem with quite a few nVidia drivers back in the day, but I've not updated those in months either. Doesn't look to be a problem with my GPU itself as its running other games completely fine still and temperature levels are normal, so it's hopefully not the card dying somehow.

Yes they actually work but saltena foods are for combat skill, if you're working on magic you need the appropriate pitaru.

I was able to get my Zilart T2 vw done by saying, "{Zilart} T2 {Yes, Please.} {Japanese} {I can understand a little.}" (which is true). We worked it out so that I went on RNG and that if an archery/marksmanship/ranger proc needed to happen, then they'd use auto-translate.

Having your jobs in your search comment when you send the tell helps immensely.

Really, though, if you don't know basic katakana and the kanji for certain jobs, you're going to have a rough time unless they're being particularly nice.
