Figured more people might see this here than in the Dynamis topic. Was there a post or 2 here about Lost Fairy Ring being soloable by Bst?
If so, mind telling me the strat? Or is it basically the same as regular Fairy ring fight (pet in front and you behind )?
I’d assume HQ Fungar pet along with reward/Dawns? Perhaps a solid –petpdt set as well?
cant believe i havent picked up a M. Stone yet...
For Lost Fairy Ring:
You will need a couple things: Discrete Louise for the fight, if you plan on only doing 1 lost NM this run, use familiar it helps a bunch.
A good reward set with at least 12ish Dawn Mulsums and 2 stacks of Theta ( for your first time, I only use 6-7 now that I am comfortable fighting) and a red curry bun for DPS.
I have -33% PDT on my pet when fighting, that's plenty.
Strategy: When you pop the NM, he will open up with a funguar type move... if it's anything other than spore, it can 1 shot you. Pop and run and try your best to get DL on the NM. Once you have accomplished that, just wait it out a good 5% for your pet to get hate. You can slowly start DDing the NM from behind, being careful you don't pull hate because again... any move other than spore will most likely one shot you. Be sure to watch your pets HP, never let it dip below 25%. DL will resist most of the attacks, but you can get a full power one sometimes.
This fight is pretty much straight forward from here, spawn JA's to try and proc the mob, after your first Ruinator(Snarl) combo, you should be okay to full attack, snarling whenver possible.
THe fight should take 10-15 minutes. Remember, keep your pets HP above 25%, if your pet dies, stay calm... summon another DL and try to live.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Nantina is a little more difficult. You will be using Fatso Fargan for this, again if this is the only NM, use Familiar. This fight isn't the best of the two for two reason, it's a longer fight... and it's a bitch of a fight.
You will need again 2 stacks of Theta's... and a good 15+ Mulsums, maybe 20 for your first time. I use around 7-10. Food as well..red curry.
Pop Fatso....have him fight and guess what... let him get hate for a good 5%. Nantina will use Blow 1-10x in a row, he then uses Uppercut which is the move that can do anywhere from 200-1200 to your pet. The biggest thing is after the THIRD uppercut, he will use Attractant.. which is an AOE charm move, make sure you are at least 15 distance from Nantina, if you get charmed, your done, just HP. Once your pet estabishes hate, try your best to JA proc him just like Fairy... run up... hti a couple times use A step + violent flourish and fight till the 1st or 2nd Uppercut happens, you should be 15+ distance away by the third Uppercut, once he uses attratant.. go back in and attack. Rinse and repeat this till dead.
Always remember to snarl after Ruinator and whenever its up, spawm suction until procc'd, then drainkiss. This fight takes 20-25 minutes. Remeber keep your pet above 25%, and run away after the second uppercut, or after the first ( prefferebly).
I can go into Dynamis now, best case scenario...(Happens alot), with 25-30 Mulsums, 4 stacks of Theta and have 60 minutes left in dynamis with a Moepapa Stone and Medal.. already up 3-3.5M, I usually farm another pop item off of DC mobs with that time left, you get another pop item... and you get currency!
Hope this helps... let me know how it goes!
Also make sure you put a moepapa stone of yours in your Dbox before you go to dynamis.... I made the mistake of forgetting and it's not worth fighting any of the lost mobs if you have the item already.... won't get a drop. Location of Nantina is where he spawns, just keep him there, and when you run away run to the two trees in front of him, you'll see them, they are in front of cactuar, chill there during downtime, you will need to fight with your pet.... for both... or you will run out of time, (30 minute time limit).
I can do both of these fights, with less than 2 stacks of Theta's and 20-25 Mulsums now and finish with a good 70-80 mins left at least to farm. Stone has a better drop rate than my experiences with Medal, and it sells much faster.
Cross posted from dynamis thread:
Assuming abyss-sea gear level (af3+2/shinryu drops/lvl.85/90 emps, purchasable gear), Which of the duos would provide a better kill rate in CoP dynamis zones, on decent challenge mobs only (nightmare mobs)
THF+DNC
THF+BLU
THF+X
X+X?
(X of course being a job not listed above)
Due to limited playtime all I ever get to do atm are things I can two box. Dynamis is my main source of gil because of that. Before I commit to fully gearing my dnc mule, and my THF more so, I'm just wondering if time would better be invested in using a different job, or jobs, in order to provide more efficient runs to maximize profit.
Remember I do DC nightmare mobs only, so if that factors into performance from certain jobs keep that in mind.
THF + BLU would allow you to fully traverse easiest mobs with both WS/JA/MA procs at the ready. THF+DNC would work better imo if you are only doing JA/WS proc mobs.
BEST case is BST+THF, which was not listed above.
How does bst pet hold up to DC mobs?
Atm gaylas (triple bats, byne mobs in qufim) nearly ALWAYS link, at least the first run through their spawn point. 2-4 bats per pull. I tank them all on thf while working them down one at a time with thf+dnc duo, but it takes significant healing from my dnc still with that many at once.
Go to Valkurm, you have potential for the same currency(if not better), mobs are WAY more forgiving and there are NM's there you can solo on BST that are worth 1.5m-2M depending on server.
Thanks Omni for the info. That’s pretty much how I figured the fight would go. Dangerous to pop but aside from that, same as a regular fairy ring but with reward/dawns.
As for gear, I pretty much have the full on ‘pet set’ with the exception of Selemus Belt (head/x2 axes/neck/back/legs+2…among a few other pieces) along with a pretty solid reward set (-20 seconds, +50% & plenty of MND). Pet food usually isn’t an issue but might need to have a friend make me some dawns. Looks like they are a necessity.
Am I reading this wrong? Are you saying Spore is the only one that cant 1 shot me, or do I have that backwards (which I think I do). I’ll probably to pop with Meirki/Twlight/darkrings. That would hopefully lessen the blow if he pops with spore (breath attack correct?).if it's anything other than spore, it can 1 shot you.,
Couple last questions
-iirc, popping the boss there depops pets. Is this the same case with LFR or can I call beast before popping?
-Is it possible to pop from the farthest distance and quickly run out of range thus canceling the initial TP move?
-What would you guesstimate the drop rates are for stone/neck?
Aren't the "easy" mobs in dunes, Hippos+treants+funguars?, Are they stacked pretty close together? The Decent Challenge versions that is. On my server easy prey mobs are beyond crowded almost all hours of the day in every zone, and if you do get to a camp with plenty of mobs up, someone will show up shortly to camp right on top of you. I almost never get camped on when I do DC mobs, I despise having to try for claims in dynamis.Go to Valkurm, you have potential for the same currency(if not better), mobs are WAY more forgiving and there are NM's there you can solo on BST that are worth 1.5m-2M depending on server.
NM drops aside.
Spore is the only TP move that does not do damage, all others ie; Frog Kick, breaths, shrooms etc can 1 shot you. I also pop with PDT and MDB gear that I have laying around, nothing to series. I recommend investing in a Regen set, for that chance where you get hit or pull hate and don't want to cure bomb.
Q1: Pets do not depop when you spawn the LFR or Nantina, so pop before and wait on CB timer if you want, or familiar first etc.
Q2:Yes, I use clipper, but if you have enough speed you can pop and run quick enough to where he won't even hit you with a TP move, giving you time to fight your pet on it and allow it to get hate.
Q3:I would give stone around a 50% drop rate WITH stagger, and a 15% at most without being able to stagger(Trust me it happens). Medal is around 33% with stagger, never seen it without.
I've gone a full fight rage spamming JA's not being able to stagger either, sometimes I get it first JA or WS, and a couple times I have managed to proc @ 1-2% HP on the mob. I've fought all them over 50x each, and only once have I seen a 100 piece + item drop from Fairy. never from Nantina
You said you wanted to to DC mobs for duo purposes, so in Valkurm you would be fighting Funguars, Sheep and Treants. Those are typically never to crowded, I do recommend a Frenzy Sallet or Berserkers Torque for sheep, Sheep song is annoying.
Also if I can solo them on BST without any real issues, you for sure can destroy them duoing.
Does light obi break the cure cap?
Gotcha, sorry, I was thinking ‘dark spore’ instead of just spore. Although I’m sure spore can be equally as dangerous depending on its proc rate. Going to give this a shot tonight if I can find some dawns. Thanks again for the info.
If you are as dedicated as I am, you'll contract a Mulsum maker haha. I have a person who makes 20 a day for me @ a set rate of 8k each, I couldn't stand buying 20x mulsums every day 1 @ a time from the AH lol
Also stating the obvious, don't fight in front of mob, and snarl all day erry day whenever it is up.
Are new 2HRs replacing the old ones? seperate timer? shared timer? a lot of them seem pretty underwhelming
Anyone know if blobdingnag is soloable by a drg? I havent fought him yet so just by going by wiki, he doesnt sound horrible. Fight in pond so babies dont aggro, and his tp moves really dont look that bad. Although he is blm so agas could potentially ruin my day.
My other question is, if it is soloable, is it really worth it? Ie will it take forever or be too risky? We have a lot of new/returning players in our ls, so until we get them up to speed gearwise i probably cant call on much help for this.
Also, the pond trick only works if there's rain weather. (It might work only if there's double rain.)
