I'm not very good on the math with this subject so could someone tell me...

For ranged attacks, is STR always better than ranged attack when not capping fSTR2? Like, when generally dealing with similar amounts (For example Vulcan's Pearls opposed to Clearview/Oneiros Pearl, Bellona's opposed to Pryosoul). I understand a decent chunk of ranged attack would outweigh smaller amounts of STR.

If not, could someone explain why/when it is not?

Wiki claims you have to be capped for D skill rating to be capped for B+, and that sounds about right. Since SCH is a D in all of their magic skills, you'll have to be capped naturally to hit 404 with LA up. Only jobs that have better than a D, like WHM or RDM, benefit from being undercapped with LA.

going to 3box it. Fight description kinda confuses me about the shields, unless its as written:
"These shields dramatically reduce melee damage (90%?) and annul magic damage. To remove the shields, do the equivalent of about 3,000 magic damage otherwise. "
should I bring my mnk on blm instead to wipe out the shields, or is it not a big deal at 99?

It still shields and they do slow down dps, but an enspell from a sch is likely sufficient. What setup did you plan on? If you can do melee healer (blm|sch|rdm) that'd likely be faster than melee melee whm, but I can't see melee melee whm losing either.

edit: could it be the goblin statue you killed the 1st time was the 20m TE which you had already gotten?

Definitely not; this was Valkrum so they aren't close at all. You can also see me attacking the yagudo TE very shortly afterwards. It would be impossible to move from the DC goblins to the EP yagudo that fast without +movement speed.

Formless strikes or Twilight scythe make this fight a joke.

Or requiescat if that is available. I soloed him on BLU using it and he is very easy with some method of taking off the shield. It doesn't annul magic damage, but it seems to be some form of stoneskin so maybe someone who wrote that saw the 0 dmg and assumed magic didn't work.

Go guttler. No way you really need the tp from the kraken. I'm usually sitting on boatloads of tp trying to get something to proc. Onslaught is pretty fun to use, too. But I say go full-tilt and get an aymur

Yes there is a number which i don't have but they are really stupid on the phone and will not help you without a case number

so you have to fill a form for contact on the playonline SE contact site, and they will give you a Case number and a way to contact them (Just hope that your problem is qualified for phone support) or else they will only offer you char or email support

Do you use Windows 7? If so you can alter the sound of individual programs by hitting the sound icon on your task bar > mixer. Vista might have this as well, but I went XP > 7 so no idea.

You're also not just turning your computer sound down, are you? Config > gameplay I think? Is sound stuff.
