Generally speaking, unless the target is really *really* resistant to light magic, Flash doesn't get resisted. Just to be safe, I would fill any non-Haste/fast cast slot with whatever Divine/M.Acc/MND gear you have.

Has anyone else noticed since the parrying/guard mechanics change, that skilling up weapons even using food, seems to take longer than before? I don't know if I've just been unlucky but I haven't seen as many skillups on club and staff as I was trying to cap those on my pld.

Idk I heard Fafnir drops Ridill like 80% now though.

No, on a serious note, I've gotten normal skill up rates. It's just typical shitty SE luck.

I have 80 inventory slots on my main character, however, I cannot go above 79/80 for some reason. Any ideas as to why this is? I am able to fill my sack/satchel up to 80 just fine, though.

PLD: pull a ton of mandies with Lion, another PDT-, and Mounted Champion atmas. Wall them and use Circle Blade with a ridiculously low damage sword. Physical WS aoe skill up on each target hit, magic don't. GSD can be done too.

BST: just hit things. Really.

I've relogged (clean shutdown, even) and zoned and the problem still occurs. Physically counted the items in my inventory and I do indeed only have 79 and can't put anything else in my bag. >< It's not too big of a deal except when I forgot about it and try to lot a pop item or something and end up losing it. :b

Possibly a bad dat? Do you have another comp you can connect from? Otherwise call GM, see if they can see an extra item in inv.

Only suggestions I have is Check Files, call GM, or have a friend login on you and see if they're also seeing the missing item. If you do the last thing, this at least tells you if it's local or server and helps you have ammo for going after SE to fix it.

FWIW, I have another character that also has an 80 slot bag and doesn't exhibit the issue on my machine, so that tells me... something I guess. Will try logging on my laptop when I get access to it to see if the issue occurs there and I guess barring that, will call a GM. Thanks for the guesses everyone.

Does background resolution still hard cap at 2048 x 2048?

Nah. That comes from the mid-range cards of FFXI's release era having a maximum texture size of 2048x2048, because it renders to a texture before post-processing with CPU then pushing to frame buffer, so that's also why render resolution was square too, because low-end cards of that same era didn't support non-square or even non-power-of-two-dimensions textures.

Modern cards support whatever, so you can put whatever you want in there, but NVidia cards can now force FXAA even on FFXI which looks way better without dumping your framrerate in PC-filled areas, and the pixel averaging of non-matched render resolution just screws it up. Looks best to 1:1 your render res to your window res and force FXAA, plus you get 29.9fps everywhere.
