Random Question Thread XXVII: Okay this roman numerals bullshit is getting ridiculous

Best locations to farm STR thokcha trials through? Actually curious about personal opinions on this.

I'm interesting in opinions from people who know Dyna-Tav well.
With a small group of friends we wanted to farm Tav mainly for XP trials, with the "icing on the cake" of walking out with a decent amount of currency.
We would go in with 3-4 people, these are our jobs, with average+ gear.

Player1: NIN, MNK, DNC, PUP, SAM, BST, SCH, SMN, BRD
Player2: THF, ........, NIN, MNK, WAR, WHM, SMN
Player3: BLU, RDM
Player4: BST, seminaked BLM

Aside from players being locked on a certain job for XP trial (obviously) and Player2 most likely forced to stay on TH, where would you suggest us to farm in Tav, and with which jobs?

I literally have 0 experience of lowmen Tav, only farmed it during LS events, where we h ad 14+ players divided in 3 groups, usually.

There is 0 reason to assume signet would lower drop rates because of crystals. You can get over 10 items per mob, some of it will just auto drop right away.

This would probably be easier to verify then an ancient statement SE made thankfully, can anyone name a mob that drops over 10 items? Would make proving this one way or the other oh-so-easy.

Best way to solo "Blood of Heroes" (late in the Sandy WoTG quest line) on BLU? I've tried focusing on the main NM, kiting away the adds and letting the kid handle them, sleeping everything etc. but no matter what I end up losing.

Happened to us on a few sky gods awhile back. Don't remember which one specifically.

Also, Box Step (and Violent Flourish) don't seem to transfer TH level.

I don't know. Violent Flourish does damage, so it's at least not purely based on damage. The fact that it doesn't work with Box Step and Violent Flourish makes it seem unlikely it would work with Steal or Mug. I assume that Dia would work. I am pretty sure it works with /ra.

Tav is easy, the only issue will be if other people are in there. It's harder to get the times than farm. The only mobs which cause real hassle and they're managable are the clusters. Leeches are never fun mobs to kill but nothing in there is terribad if you're sensible.

If you have sensible players who can be relied upon to use reraise appropriately in case of disasters... then I'd go DNC, THF, BLU and BST and have the BLU or BST sub RDM or WHM. I assume nothing has greatly changed in terms of proc'ing since March. You get plenty of damage, you get TH and you get crowd control.

Do you have some logs and a macro example? I use a box step th macro fairly regularly and thought it was working fine, but it could have been due to an attack round sneaking in while my th gear was still on. This is surprising to me.

Can you magic fruit excenmille? If so, probably best to CW/Whirl cleave down the minis (NOTE: I AM NOT A BLU AT ALL) and then focus on keeping excenmille alive.

I duo'd it with extreme ease with my BST friend. Let him build up pet TP with glyph axe and rabbit pet, have rabbit go in and whirl claws and keep as many off excenmille as possible while I murdered everything to death with my Apoc. Fight lasted literally under 90 seconds after we engaged. Catastrophe oneshotted one BLM, and a relic/set proc crit oneshotted the other one. They have quite low HP.

Search isnt yielding anything very concrete, or at least to my liking. What is best route for farming Ancient Beastcoins in Limbus? Certain room better than another, etc? Will be duo, and jobs available are open to about anything.

So what's up with the daily reward system? Wiki is showing some possible rewards (novio earring??) I'm assuming it's very rare to get something really worthwhile.

Tav statues don't link with Hydra/Kindred, so the only difficult TEs are below the bridge (sneak past/kill the Tauri) and the Eye (keep your mage out of range in case of Sleepga). I wouldn't do clusters with a TP-feeding group.

Can confirm this from Sky as well. In the event that it drops over 10 items it will just auto an item randomly to someone. It prioritizes some drops over others, similiar to how Dynamis will keep AF in pool and auto drop coins.

I'd be curious if other aggressive but non damaging actions act the same way like provoke or bully. I'll mess with it myself as well when I have some time. I'm thinking of doing the following:

1. Get passive aggro
2. Turn away
3. Engage
4. Use steps or other test actions with TH gear on
5. Remove th gear
6. Fight normally and attempt to get a th proc

I imagine BLU can solo this fight if RDM can assuming you can heal Excenmille with magic fruit or w/e spell is most MP efficient. I stopped bothering trying to kite stuff away from him since it's annoying to have to re-position stuff to try and sleep it while I took down the bugard. Make sure to have AoE sleeps ready and just zerg down the non-NMs when Exenmille is being stupid with his lame AoE WSs.

Magic fruit is party only, I doubt you can target the npcs with it. I didn't have any trouble when I soloed the fight at as blu/rdm thou. Used a lot of whirl/frypan and zerged down the adds with physical spells. Didn't sleep anything.

EDIT: Is there a way to check with jobs you've cleared maat on?

Thanks for the suggestions on Tav guys. When I did the runs with my LS I was always on the "Cluster > Leeches > Somethingelse" group.
Clusters are not bad but they can be annoying and randomly make you wipe, I'd love to avoid them.
Leeches are ok as long as you can erase/healingwaltz yourself I suppose. What else is in there that can be rotated to follow procs times? I remember Fishes and Bees on the lower floors. Fishes' dive move was dangerous at level 75 but I assume at level 99 it should be ok even if we will be without shadows? And bees had that nasty final sting but I assume the same is valid?

You confirm our idea that Tav should be better than Xarc/Beauc for XP trials for such a small group? Dreamland zones definitely proved much better than cities for us on that regard.

The most important thing by far is to not duo it, that is cutting your coins in half for no reason. NW and NE are good. Lots of jobs will work fine at this point, blu is probably best since you get treasure hunter, real heals, and can swap spells to nuke down the melee immune gigas in NE if you get unlucky and have to kill him.

Temenos is pretty good too. Got 50+ on each of the tier 1 zones first time on bst with a good 30 min left so could've played a bit more agressively on time. Plus my DD setup wasn't as good then. Gunna see what I can get tonight
