As has been said, Tav's biggest problem is size. If the zone is taken even with one group, it'll be a waste. My thief buddy and I are able to take on every mob in our rotation without any problem, and that's just two of us with an alt.
Anything not clusters and leeches (or DC) will yield less EXP. More to it, there's only eight leeches, eight bees, five makara, and something like twelve-sixteen clusters. Plenty of worms though.
Basically, an active group of four trying to get exp on top of currency isn't going to balance so well. You have to commit either to getting exp in Tav, or currency, and probably biting a bullet somewhere so you can either get done in one run, or walking away with a decent amount of coin.
9 Clusters only, even. Your best bet would be just mass killing leeches+clusters and procing when you can, but as has been said lots - any duo will entirely wipe 1 mob family at a time, so check anyone inside is on EP or you'll be unlikely to finish in 1 run without rings.
Anyone experienced with tav though won't enter while you're inside, so if you're clear when you enter, should be clear full run.
It'll probably still be better currency than doing xarc/bcd though - I've pulled ~170 and 20k xp w/out rings as mnk/war + rdm/thf doing just 2hrs of clusters, provoke/chi/1 ws per mob as only proc chances when working on trials myself.
TE is probably the "hardest" but also the fastest - they're always in the same spots, and tav is so small that running around is a breeze. You do need to clear to them a little (5 Taurus for a 10m, 1 Ahriman for the 20min) but the other 3 10's are very easy.
Searching the zone, it's pretty obvious when a group is going for XP. If you have a larger group, you might want to stay on Kindred as you won't run into any competition and they die fast with more than 1 DD.
Incidentally, I find that the JP will seacom when they enter Tav and will also include their mob rotation so that should help you out.
Think we'll focus on the XP and take the currency as "icing on the cake", whatever amount we get. In a couple of weeks we should be done with the trials anyway.
Tried Beauc/Xarc but it worked really ugly.
Is anyone else getting 403 forbidden when trying to access FFXIAH.com? Just tried to check AH and I'm not able to get there on my phone or my wired connection.
FFXIAH has been down since about 2EST, haven't seen anything re: why yet though.
Thank you, was hoping it wasn't something on my end.
This is what I remember doing for my STR Thokcha
The "praying for fire weather that will never, ever happen" method:
Trial 18: Anything in Cape Terrigan, Kuftal Tunnel, Crawler's Nest, Crawler's Nest (S), Gustav Tunnel, Mount Zhayolm, Quicksand Caves, etc.
Trial 19: Crabs in Terrigan, Kuftal, or Zhayolm.
Trial 20: Bunnies or Manticores in Terrigan or Manticores in West Altepa. (Some will spawn too weak, but better than nothing if you can kill a few during a heatwave.)
Trial 21: Flans in Zhayolm.
Trial 1100: Waurmas in Zhaylom, stuff in Cralwer's Nest or Crawler's Nest (S), flies and chigoes in Rolanberry (S), or Beetles in Quicksand caves. (Some will spawn too weak, but better than nothing if you can kill a few during a heatwave.)
Trial 1101: Manticores in Terrigan
Trial 1891: Cockatrices in Terrigan or Greater Birds in West Altepa. (Some will spawn too weak, but better than nothing if you can kill a few during a heatwave.)
The "I have to do it on Firesday because heatwaves suck, but I don't want to do it in Abyssea" method:
Trial 18: Wherever you feel like going for Easy Prey mobs.
Trial 19: Crabs in Kuftal or Crabs and Pugils in Vunkerl Inlet (S).
Trial 20: Bunnies and Tigers in Uleguerand Range
Trial 21: Flans in Zhayolm.
Trial 1100: Beetles, Crawlers, and/or Scorpions in Cralwer's Nest. (I love the beetle camp on the donut room map, now super-awesome with 5 minute respawns.)
Trial 1101: Manticores in Terrigan
Trial 1891: Lesser Colibri in Wajaom Woodlands, Marsh Murre in Caedarva Mire, Flamingos in Ru'Aun Gardens.
The "I have to do it on Firesday because heatwaves suck, but I have a metric shit-ton of Traverser stones" method:
Trial 18: Wherever you feel like going.
Trial 19: Slashers and Gashers in Misareaux.
Trial 20: Coreurls in Tahrongi
Trial 21: Flans in Konschtat.
Trial 1100: Flies in La Theine or Chigoes in Attohwa. (Extra bonus points if you can get a BLU to AoE burn the Chigoes, you will be done with the trial in no time, especially if another group has Tunga. Blue Mage owns that camp's face.)
Trial 1101: Manticores in Tahrongi
Trial 1891: Bats in Tahrongi.
Learn to love this page, it will save you a lot of time. If you see a hot spell or heat wave, get to the proper zone early, especially Western Altepa/Quicksand Caves so you can kill the too weak mobs to try to repop them as EP. Always check comments and team up, make sure to put what you need in your comment. (Standard Magian advice.)
I just had my friend Fiv try this in abyssea. He tagged a mob with Box Step as THF99/DNC then took off relic hands +2 and proceeded to hit until TH message appeared. It was TH6. He also tagged a mob with Violent Flourish, removed hands and hit for message. Again, TH6. So, it would seem that those two JAs can properly transfer TH unless I missed something.
So.... I know this is like beating a dead horse, but again the question is brought up with Monster Gloves. If I have 5/5 BA merits, I technically do not need to worry about any pet I am summoning that is lvl 87 or above being less than 99? Since most pets can spawn 1-2 levels below you, the gloves are essentially worthless unless you summon Nursery Nezuna, or a pet around that level?
The answer is the same. BA only raises the cap of the pets. The gloves change the range they can summon at. No gloves is 0-2 below you. Gloves is 0-1 +2 gloves is 0. That makes the gloves very useful the augments on it not so much. Also makes your BA merits mostly useless too unless doing something like NN
Thankyou
What's a good limbus zone to farm coins on mnk/dnc?
So i'm duoing Walk of Echoes with a friend, and i keep getting reraise without actually having it. Is this a new thing? I'm not wearing twilight or anything.
Yes, auto reraise in WoE
Okay, since friend started leveling DNC for some reason, what kind of WS gear do DNC use? I know THF shares some gear, but even then I don't really have much of an idea as to what other alternatives DNC brings. Assuming Aluh/STR for daggers, of course.
where's the safest place to (essentially) bot some healing skills?
