If I'm BLU/DNC and I set two spells that create DW do I get DWIII?
No.
Real quick newb question, but I never really thought to check.
If you're outside of the alliance in legion, can you still attack the mob? Does it use normal battle mechanicals or is it like WoE/campaign where anyone can attack any mob?
What BST merits?
I use a different setup.
Group1: Reward, Sic/Ready
Group2: Feral Howl, Beast Healer
I used to have exactely your setup all the way to level 95. Then I noticed than I wasn't using capped jugs anymore, the jugs I use are level 99 anyway, so 5/5 Beast Affinity was wasted, and then I got Feral Howl.
I was surprised by this JA. It's an additional chance to proc a JA mob in dynamis (once every 5 minutes), it can save your ass (once every 5 mins) and with the recent fixes it sticks the majority of the time, I really like it.
Sic recast instead of call beast because of the different style of play I use BST nowadays. Some time ago there were some situations where I was supposed to spam pets one after another, and for those situations call beast timer was a useful merit.
Now I use BST... uh... I think only in Dynamis, and keeping Spur up most of the time I don't really have TP issues, I rather have charges issues, especially on pets where I often use moves that require 2 charges.
So yeah, I went with sic/ready recast, together with Charmer's Merlin (if you're a gimp and still use it) it gives a little help concerning this.
I never have a problem with Ready recast, always seem to be waiting on my pet to get TP. (14% pet haste)
When I spam single charge moves yes, I usually don't have problems. When I want to use 2charges moves and seldom 3charges moves then yes, I get TP faster than the recast on charges.
Well, at least when SPUR is up, and maybe when I have multiple targets on the pet, which is the main situation where I've found myself been wanting to use those multiple charges multiple times on Dipper Yuly.
In those situation the small amount gained by that group1 merit helped me a bit. Not much, but better than what Call Beast was doing for me, since lately I've never ever ever ran into the situation of having to recall my pet multiple times before the recast on Call beast was ready again.
I ran into this kind of situations a lot years ago, which is why I had Call Beast recast before.
I guess it depends on what kind of things you do with your BST though.
Best Red Mage T2 merit distribution?
been trying to find some cheap copy of the game.. missed the summer steam sale.
anyone know where they might be selling cheap copys? don't wanna pay 20 bucks for a game that's 5000 years old.
BTW FF14 brand new is 12 bucks...![]()
I like having access to everything, so I go with:
1 Blind II
1 Slow II
1 Para II
3 Phalanx II
2 Dia III
2 Bio III
Logic behind the distribution is at 500 enhancing skill and 3 merits, my Phalanx II is 29 points of damage reduction, 6 less than a normal Phalanx, and with the gloves, the duration is comprable.
I rely on gear for additional potency/accuracy on the enfeebles.
Extra merits in dia and bio are for duration and the added relic +2 bonus. They last 1:16 with the relic+2 bonus.
I don't bother with Bio at all and put anything in there into Dia
Just having 1 in tier 2 debuffs is pretty much a waste. Phalanx 2 is only useful for those times when you really need to phalanx someone else and you can't acension. Bio have mixed feelings about. Stacked with alot more att down could be neet. But everyone PDs anything that hits that hard anyways. Blind is nice occasionally but not often. So I'd split between dia para and slow.
Also wether you have bst gloves or not had no bearing on wether you should or shouldn't merit BA since they do different things.
He probably meant AUGMENTED AF2 gloves, altough that's a kinda moot point too, since to gain full advantage of the augment you need to have points into beast affinity first lolololol
As I said before, imho it depends on the pets you use. If the pets you use are uncapped, Beast Affinity is a waste. If otherwise, it's quite a decent merit and potentially a gil saver.
