What's the difference between "I can't/won't date you because you're white/black/asian/hispanic/etc" and "I won't/can't associate with you because you're white/black/asian/hispanic/etc"?
Penises are fickle creatures, and that's the difference. It would actually be more like this:
1) I can't/won't date you because you aren't attractive to me.
2) You aren't attractive to me because I like like secondary sexual characteristics that you do not have.
3) You do not have these secondary sexual characteristics because your race is not predisposed to them. (boobs on an asian, etc.)
4) Some members of your race may possess the features that I like, but most do not. The members of your race that have the equipment I'm looking for are still on my list.
5) In general, though, it's safe to say that I don't like members of your race "like that."
You're drawing the line between sexual discrimination and racism. I'd draw another line between sexual discrimination and sexual preference. If you can't control what you like then you can't control what you like.
Again, what's the difference between one of these people who is attending this conference with this thinking and someone who thinks like this in the rest of the world? It's not racist because it comes to sex and "the penis is a fickle creature", would that mean all women find everyone in the world attractive regardless of race?
We have more information to base our conclusions on for the people attending this conference. That's the only difference. If the only thing you know about a person is that they have the same thought process as described by byrthnoth, then then based on the information provided, the only conclusion that can be reached is that there is no evidence of racism. That doesn't mean they aren't racist; they might be. But we have no evidence of it, based solely on what physical features they find attractive.
So, as long as someone is ambiguous about why they don't date certain races, it's not racism, it's just a preference?
No, actually females are less willing to look outside their own race than males (via the Ask.com statistics that were released a while back, I think). I just said penis because this board is like 80-90% male and the imagery was more vivid, in that the problem is a little more dramatic if you literally can't get it up for some chick because you don't find her physically attractive.
It would be like a heterosexual trying to have sex with a gay guy that's interested in you just because you're a nice and openminded person. Being openminded and nice only goes so far. It doesn't make you gay.
Is test123 black?
No? I don't think anyone is sexually attracted to a label. ...but if you tits are your thing and go to China, the foreigner district would be your oasis in the desert.
In short, preference =/= racism though preference can be informed by racist ideology.
You can easily find men or women of your own race sexually less than ideal but would that be considered racist?
So its not racist to dislike like those nigga features like thick lips, high cheekbones, big, squashed noses and nappy hair?
Awesome.
