I was under the assumption that these cool DNS servers were still active and the FBI is just removing their protection/shield on us.
So basically the damage is already done and the grace period that will soon be over, if we haven't fixed it by then, we'd get no internet because our DNS settings will be pointing to something non-existant.
And that spells doomsday?! lol -- jeez this was absolutely smaller that I thought

They caught the hackers, the fbi copied the servers (and cleaned them). Fbi has been running these servers for ~2 years. They want to do something else now, so they are now unplugging these cloned servers. People still infected with the virus will lose internet because the dns servers will no longer exist.
I think that sums it up.

Internet just came back after being off 12 hours. Thought I was 'infected' but ATT pulled the plug on purpose because of this.
