Apparently SE happened. No surprise.

I think they may still distribute the prizes, but it probably won't be for another month, despite them saying they'll be distributed sometime in July.

Last word was they were still "aiming for their end of July window", but the whole of the statement was pretty clear that they didn't really expect to have anything more than maybe an Athena orb sent out by the end of the 31st.

Wasn't the Japanese thing just a bunch of redeem codes that were already in the system, vs. upwards of 5000+ applications that they're probably sifting through one at a time for this Gob thing?

Yeah, but even with that in mind, they stopped taking submissions for the thing on the 12th. It's kind of hard to imagine that even if they took every single name and wrote it on a piece of paper, and then drew names from a hat, using only two people in their offices, that it'd take over 19 days to straighten everything out.

Well how long was the thing delayed because they couldn't find an intern to write up the registration page? This thing should be automated. The do have systems for delivering things to people using names/numbers out of an MS Access file or whatever they use. I mean the fact that you can redeem codes like the JPs did proves that much. It SHOULDN'T be taking this long. But it is.
