Some big ones are Ghost of Tsushima on PC in Feb, FFVII remake in June 2022, and Horizon Forbidden West in September of 2022

The list also has Squadron 42 coming out in 2 weeks, so take with a grain of salt lol

The idea behind nfts and blockchain actually sound really cool in the video game industry, but the execution is what sucks.

If I had some piece of swag or an item that I could carry with me between any game from that company, or group of companies, that would be cool. The problem will happen when they try to monetize it through mining or something.

Those kind of things already exist to a degree though, they don't need to be paired up with a bunch of buzzwords used to mask extra monetization. Ubisoft has allowed your achievements to unlock stuff in other games for years, for example. Think EA has used similar stuff where owning certain games will unlock extra stuff in other EA titles.

Sure they could enact the same ideas differently, but they often don't do anything substantial in game, usually like you said an achievement or something. This technology could be useful to expand that and make it easier/possible to extend how much and what they can do, but they'll end up doing it in the most toxic way as possible cause $$$.

You earn some cool ass weapon in an Assassin's Creed game and it gets flagged in your Ubisoft account, and then when you play other Ubisoft games that flag being active unlocks the weapon or something related to it. This option has been there for years, throwing the words NFT or blockchain into the mix isn't going to magically make them try harder at the concept. They're just using it as a way to even further monetize the games.

Edit : Valve banned all Blockchain based games for a reason, this kind of stuff provides no benefit to the player over existing options, it is nothing more then a way to further get money out of the consumers.

Variations of Metal Gear 2 & 3 are being pulled off storefronts due to an licensing issue with archival footage.

Konami is temporarily removing Metal Gear Solid 2 and Metal Gear Solid 3 from digital storefronts while it attempts to renew the licenses for historical archive footage used in-game.

The publisher explained various iterations of each game will be pulled from sale on November 8, 2021, including numerous HD editions and collections for platforms like PlayStation 3, Nintendo 3DS, Nvidia Shield, PlayStation Now, Xbox 360, and GOG.
