I also feel Square Enix is safe from purchase because of how split their library is between Sony and Nintendo, with support from both companies for their exclusives.
Im sure Sony has been looking to buy SE for decades.
At this point, With the right deal and right price everyone is up for grabs. IMO Capcom, Square, Kadokawa are companies that all make sense for Sony and they're relatively affordable for them. I was already expecting one of them to be grabbed this year and today's events let me think this is even more likely now.
If Japanese law allows it. I can also see MS grabbing SE or Capcom.
It's not against the law for foreign companies to buy Japanese tech companies, but any company trying to buy more than 10% of a Japanese tech company has to have the purchase reviewed by the government.
Sony isn't a "foreign" company for Japan anyway
I just have a really hard time seeing a company like SE or Capcom, who have resisted console maker buyouts in the past, suddenly bend to that avenue when they're by all indications perfectly stable and profitable standing alone.
Someone like Konami or Koei Tecmo I could see, but even then those just seem way to stable or happy in their current state and partnerships that unless its something absurd like 60B for them why would they want to sell?
I'm for anyone who actually makes games buying Konami.

It's going to be an interesting year!Acquisitions are gonna be the new game announcements aren't they? Let see what companies Microsoft and Sony get next. What are your thoughts on the general consolidation we're seeing? Is it good for games? I'm on the fence.
Ahh, here it is.

"Though close collaboration between Bungie and PlayStation Studios we aim to launch more than 10 live service games by the fiscal year ending March 31, 2026," explained Sony during a recent earnings webcast.
"We view the deployment of game IP on multiple platforms as a major growth opportunity for Sony, as has been evidenced by the PC version of God of War," continued Sony.
"Through this acquisition we intend to acquire new users and increase engagement on platforms other than PlayStation, which will enable us to significantly advance our long-term growth strategy for further expanding the ecosystem of our game business."

The dev most recently worked on the latest DLC for Surviving Mars and compose of modders.
Have any of you received your purchase email for your steam deck? They should have started going out but idk, haven't heard a thing anywhere about it and honestly I wouldn't be surprised if this was delayed a little longer depending on your spot on the list.
