Meanwhile PQube is claiming they used the money as intended. Going to be interesting to see how this all unfolds.

Rumor: Amazon will announce the acquisition of EA today according to GLHF sources
I actually think that is a good pairing. Amazon's game studios have clearly been failing to produce anything people want to play, seemingly due to some mix of lack of creativity/risk tolerance and never having played video games before. EA's sports games are as close to completely lacking in creativity as possible, so I bet even Amazon can run that playbook.
What is the best game EA has made in the last twenty years?
My wife still loves Sims?
Ok it’s false report.

EA is still looking for a buyer.

GLHF made the rumor then released a report denying the rumor.
New dual Kickstarted to begin om 8/29/22 that split funding between two games. One is a spiritual successor to Wild Arms, the other is Shadow Hearts.
While I appreciate and love both of these games, I'm sure they could both get made without Kickstarter, and splitting the funds sounds like an even bigger recipe for disaster than usual with KS.

..Don't do that, Odesseiron.
Don't give me hope.
Never played Shadow Hearts but I'm in for Wild Arms
*Knight Blazer theme intensifies*
Covenant is stupidly good.
I freaking love Shadow Hearts: Covenant. Really cool combat system and it was absolutely hilarious. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=elHF9LmcqkM
Surely you can't be as gullible as thinking after all these successful Kickstarter (and unsuccessful ones as well) that it hasn't shown major production companies there is a desire for these games? If the industry were in the same place it were back in 2015 after the insistence of "The future of gaming is multiplayer) I'd say sure maybe I agree. But with the state of the market now? Bullshit. There are dozens (I'm lowballing here, it is probably in the hundreds if not higher) of games that come out each year without the help of Kickstarter.
Yet for some reason they won't release these ones without the help of Kickstarter, almost like they don't want to fund the upfront costs or something.
Edit : in fact there's another article on gematsu where they admit they couldn't find publishers and are using kickstarter to prove there is interest.
Unfortunately, it had been so long and neither Wild Arms or Shadow Hearts were as famous as Final Fantasy, so they were told they needed to prove there was adequate demand for the titles. In seeing Eiyuden Chronicle go through a similar path, they decided going to crowdfunding would be the right way to prove out user demand
I realized there may be some who don't use discord. Posting everywhere sucks a bit, but eh.
My thoughts from the Gamescom stream, now that I've finally had a chance to watch it
Lots of cinematic/no gameplay, but they do look good.
Dune Awakening, Atlas Fallen, and The Lords of the Fallen were hype building. (Though Lords is a sequel with some good faith.)
Lies of P is a bit odd, but it has potential.
If Telltale can come back, Tales from the Borderlands and The Expanse are solid bets for the attempt.
Scars Above and Blacktail look narratively interesting.
Dead Island 2 looks like it'll have been worth the wait. I do have a soft spot for L.A. being turned into a disaster playground though.
Moonbreaker is a highlight. Mini/Strategy isn't for everyone, but it's nice to see someone tackle this digitally.
Can only hope it gives GW a kick in the pants.
Also, Killer Klowns the video game is just completely out of left fucking field.
