I'd expect licensing hell. I'd imagine if like, the IP owners were totally willing to part with the IP since they're not doing anything with it, there's no one with money eager to make the offer to get the ball rolling.

You did? Hearing Human Revolutions was fine actually was about the highest praise I heard for one of their works in years. Granted SE hadn't been doing much with the IPs but I don't think there's much interest in returning to Deus Ex after MD and Thief wasn't exactly warmly received in the first place.

And the last thing Laura needs is another reboot.

Human Revolution was great. Mankind Divided was fine. I've also enjoyed their Tomb Raiders (1 + 2, havent played 3). So yes, I did ask for this.

Eh, while it's a solid fight, I think it does a disservice to the series as a whole to treat that as the one shining moment.

I played them all in succession. 2 Kiwami was narratively solid, but the dragon engine killed some of my enjoyment of it after coming off 0 and Kiwami.

3 was initially a slog to play through, but I'm glad I stuck it out. I appreciated 4, and I thought in terms of gameplay, 5 really hit the peak (although it was a bit long). Without spoiling too much, they could have really ended the story there and moved onto a different protagonist and been fine.

6 was.. eh. I liked exploring the area, but the whole narrative annoyed me.

I enjoyed LAD way more than I thought I would.

Granted I only played 0 through 2 and I would say 0 and 2 so far are the absolute best but I'd say 2 edges out 0 just a teeny bit with the story.

i'm going through 0 for the first time as we speak, in love with it, silly and sad in equal measure and not like anything else in vidya. working through all 8 games is gonna take fuckin years tho

Oh and on the subject of Yakuza, looks like Sega got whatever disputes that prevented Judgement from coming to PC resolved since they're on Steam now
