Long time no see everyone! It's been nine months now since the release of "Etrian Odyssey IV", and we will announce the next development in the series this week.
Details will be in this week's April 11 Famitsu (released March 28th), so please take a look.
We also have a comment from one of the main people involved with this new development, Mr. Komori, the director.
[Mr. Komori] Good evening everyone. It's been three years since EOIII. The next game that I have been working with as director is nearing its completion.
We have aimed to make a new EO, with many experiments, so I will be glad if not only EO fans, but also those who have not been in the past, will take a look at the announcement on the 28th!

The new XBox has been rumored to be called simply "XBox." Which will add lots of confusion in the future.

A listing for Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon achievements surfaced this morning, suggesting the rumored continuation of last year's game is a standalone digital release. The listing on Exophase, which seems to indicate a shooter, show achievements totaling to 400G, the base GamerScore allotment for an Xbox Live Arcade game.

Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon first surfaced via classification ratings for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360, along with XBLA artwork. Far Cry 3 lead writer Jeffrey Yohalem told us last month that he had something in mind in terms of continuation for the game, saying "I'm working on something now that will be surprising, I think, when it's announced. But it definitely is a 'strike while the iron's hot' thing, and we'll see."

We've reached out to Ubisoft for comment.

That's like worse than Nintendo with the Wii U, and I didn't think that could be possible.

    http://www.pixelenemy.com/batman-ark...ears-e3-rumor/
While I have no doubt that Rocksteady is hard at work on another game, if rumors are to be believed, we’ll be seeing Batman in a rather nostalgic light.

According to French gaming site Gameblog.fr, their sources have told them that Rocksteady is working on a Batman: Arkham game that will be revealed at this year’s E3. It will allegedly be called “Batman: Arkham Origins,” and the story will apparently take place around the ’50s or ’60s, and will even feature other members of the Justice League.

Not only that, but the rumors also state that it’s scheduled for a PS4 and Xbox 720 release, but there is a chance that it will come to current-gen platforms, too.

Keep in mind that this is still very much a rumor. But if true, then this would add more ground to murmurs that Rocksteady’s next game will involve the Justice League in some capacity.

We’ve reached out to Warner Bros. Interactive for a comment and we’ll give an update once we hear back from them.

So, would a Batman game set during the ’50s or ’60s be your cup of tea? Let’s hope it’s more Batman: The Animated Series than Adam West, no?

    Thanks, NeoGAF

Crytek USA to bid for Darksiders IP

Crytek USA intends to bid for the Darksiders IP when the remainder of THQ’s assets are sold off before mid-May. Headed up by former Vigil co-owner David Adams, the new Austin-based studio employs many of the core members of the Darksiders development team laid off in January when the firm failed to attract any bids during parent company THQ's initial bankruptcy auction.
Shortly after Crytek offered a new home to the ex-Vigil employees, the German firm’s CEO Cevat Yerli told GamesBeat his company wasn’t interested in working on the Darksiders series as it “doesn't fit with our strategy".
But Crytek USA boss Adams has now said on Twitter: "Going to bid on Darksiders IP. Put 7 years of heart and soul into that franchise, and I think it belongs at home with its creators." And fellow Vigil co-founder Ryan Stefanelli confirmed to Destructoid: "When the Darksiders IP goes up for auction, Crytek will be bidding for it. Not much more to say since the rest is left up to courts and legal shenanigans, but we're all excited at the prospect." We’ve approached Crytek’s European HQ for further comment.

Having marathon'd the frist two games a few days ago, this gives me hope the series will be back in the hands of the people who made it. I'd like to see the story finished.

Crytek has a nice engine and graphics and all but none of their games have been all that great imo at least.

Don't get me wrong, im glad someone will be picking them up to keep the series going, just can't really get excited by Crytek owning it.

crytek offered a home to vigil (the guys that made 1 and 2).

    from what I quoted above:

    http://kotaku.com/the-wii-u-wont-be-...ne-4-462919060
This week at the Game Developers Conference, Epic Games took their usual opportunity to show off the latest developments in their whiz-bang Unreal graphics technology. In addition to the shooty/demonic demos in futuristic/fantasy settings, one of the most touted features of the engine was that it can scale from next-gen consoles like the PlayStation 4 all the way to mobile devices and even web browsers. Which raises the question: If the Unreal Engine 4 is so scalable, can it run on Nintendo's still-new Wii U?

The Wii U uses hardware that's more or less as powerful as the current Xbox 360 or PS3. It's certainly still more powerful than your average mobile device. Epic has been unclear about the Wii U's support for UE4 in the past, with Epic co-founder Mark Rein telling Videogamer that Epic doesn't intend to bring the engine to Wii U, but that "if a customer decides they want to port an Unreal Engine 4 game to Wii U, they could."

I figured I'd ask straight-out, so during the Q&A with Rein, I did. "Will UE4 run on the Wii U?"

    "Hahaha no." Rein said
, with expert comedic timing. The room erupted with laughter. As the laughs died down, Rein continued: "I mean, sorry, it's not really a correct answer. We're not… we have Unreal Engine 3 for the Wii U. Right? And Unreal Engine 3 is powering all kinds of amazing games, still lots of games are being made with Unreal Engine 3. We announced today about a new Unreal Engine 3 license. Unreal Engine 3 doesn't disappear because of Unreal Engine 4. But our goal for Unreal Engine 4 console-wise is next-gen consoles. That's really what our energies are focused on. If you want to make a Wii U game, we have Unreal Engine 3, and it's powering some of the best games on the Wii U already.

"Nothing controversial, guys," he jokingly chided.

So, it sounds like for all intents and purposes, the Wii U won't be getting the Unreal Engine 4, and therefore won't get games made using the engine. Coupled with the news from earlier this week that the Wii U won't run EA's new Frostbite 3 engine (which runs Battlefield 4 as well as the next Dragon Age and Mass Effect games), it's looking like Nintendo's console is going to have an increasingly difficult time keeping up with the competition.
