Holy pretentious batman also fucking lol at them using the video game journalist metacritic score for DmC when the user reviews has it at 4.8 average.

You know, I'd love to see another Enslaved, although I respect it as a standalone experience. At the very least, seeing some of the behind-the-scenes on it was nice. (Full videos are available elsewhere, though.) "Heavenly Sword" was good fun for an early PlayStation 3 title, too. I haven't played the DMC reboot, though I do know that Capcom wanted them to make a lot of the changes that they did—as such, I can't wholly blame them. Its failure was likely more Capcom's fault than theirs.
I think at least some of it had to do with that one guy from Ninja Theory being one of the biggest douchebags on the planet. I know I sure as hell was turned off from ever even trying the game by their ridiculously pompous attitude about it. I knew it wasn't worth a buy from watching friends play it but I would have given it a rent on gamefly if they hadn't been such complete cunts about the whole thing.
Most of the bad user reviews were people being butthurt about the changes to Dante's appearance and probably didn't even play the game.
DMC was a very solid game, probably the most enjoyable one I've played so far this year besides the new Tomb Raider.
Writing pushed me away from DmC. I'll buy it when it's used for $8
Game was fine. Legitimate complaints of the dumbed down combat are understandable, but the game is most definitely better then a 4.
He was required to be. It was literally a part of the deal.

The watch-word for DmC is "contemporary." Capcom's desire from the start was to have a new Dante that reflected the modern world, for better or worse. The publisher very much wants to continue to crack into the "Western" market, but unlike other Japanese publishers, actually drafted a Western developer into the mix, rather than simply guess what Western gamers like and work from there -- a practice that hasn't worked out too well for some games.
Then, after the game performed poorly, Capcom took a shit on Ninja Theory:

Apparently, the Internet bought it hook, line and sinker. Capcom makes Ninja Theory look like a bunch of losers and makes out like a bandit, news at 11.
would be pretty hilarious if it really was a long con to announce a return to DMC5 with 'traditional' Dante to 'give fans what they want' although it surely doesn't actually make sense financially, DMC:DMC had to cost more than a return to classic dante would boost sales.
@ Kohan: Interesting.
Just more reasons not to play it though, ain't gonna support that kind of bullshit. Capcom is such a terrible company.
@ Salodin: Also not the topic for this but the combo system wasn't the only complaint people had with that game.
@Tyrath: Never, however it's hilarious that they even put it in that video to begin with considering how stark the contrast was between professional reviewers and user reviews was.

This was actually announced about a week or so ago, but NIS America is going to localize and port Danganropna (Danganronpa: Kibō no Gakuen to Zetsubō no Kōkōsei) to the Vita in sometime Q1 of 2014. For those unfamiliar with the title, it's a type of murder-mystery visual novel wherein 15 students awaken inside of a high school that's completely sealed off from the outside world. In order to escape, or "graduate," they're required to do only one thing: commit the perfect murder of a fellow student locked up with them, and get away without anyone finding out it was they who did the crime. For those who've played 999 and/or Zero Escape and find the similar premise familiar, it's not surprising since the same developers (Spike Chunsoft) also made this game.
For anyone else interested, you can find out more here, here, or here.
Wasn't sure where to put it, but I think this needs attention:
