Capcom listed off its six "powerful" franchises. Here's the list:

Resident Evil - 61 million units.
Street Fighter - 35 million units.
Monster Hunter - 28 million units.
Devil May Cry - 13 million units
Dead Rising - 7.5 million units.
Lost Planet 5.6 million units.

I think its pretty hilarious how huge the drop offs are from unit to unit, its like, 50% cuts over and over. Also, I'd like to bet Resident Evil might not be as powerful in the next installation after RE6 sucked so hard. Dead Rising 1 was great, 2 they kinda just forgot a good part of it (Photos) until DLC, and have not even tried 3 yet.

Lost Planet... IDK... It speaks wonder about how bleh their line up is that Lost Planet acually made a top 6 list.

4) Darksiders-- DS is not dead!!! The new owner, Nordic seems very committed to continuing the series. As far as my involvement, I can't say at this point. Hopefully we will all have exciting news about the franchise soon!!!!!!

A Nordic Games representative told Rock Paper Shotgun that the company isn't yet ready to announce a new entry in the series, but that it's exploring putting together a team for the project.

"With regards to Darksiders 3: of course we've always been busy in the background, talking to a lot of former team members about a continuation of the series," they said, "but we are not ready to announce anything officially."

The rep also said Nordic "will not settle for second-best solutions" in the case of Darksiders. "Before we can say something about the 'how' and 'when' of publishing/financing the sequel is concerned, we are still busy in properly figuring out the 'who' part of this large-scale project."

Former Vigil Games creative director Joe Madureira, who is also well known for his work as a comic book artist, recently said that Nordic "seems very committed to continuing the series".

The Nordic rep added: "Joe Madureira is spot on in saying that DS is not dead and we are committed."

Nordic Games acquired the Darksiders rights during THQ's bankruptcy sale in April 2013, along with a number of other properties.

At the time, Nordic Games CEO Lars Wingefors said the company had been approached by parties interested in developing new entries in the franchises it had acquired, but that he was in no rush to put out "a shitty sequel".

A number of staff from former Darksiders studio Vigil - which THQ failed to auction off - were recruited by Crytek and are now employed at its Austin, Texas-based studio.

Rockstar to release a new Current Gen title by March 2015

Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead developer Rockstar Games is working on a new game for new generation consoles, Take-Two said during its fourth quarter 2014 earnings call.

“We’re excited about what [Rockstar] have in store for the new generation of systems this fiscal year,” Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick said.

Later on, the company said Rockstar is “hard at work on their line-up” and that there is “news to come.”

Take-Two’s fiscal year ends in March 2015.

When asked if Rockstar would attend E3 next month, Take-Two said Rockstar has not yet announced whether or not it would exhibit the expo.

Additionally, the company announced that WWE 2K15, which will be the first title in the series on new generation consoles, will not be developed by Yuke’s, but by Visual Concepts. For WWE 2K14, the first title in the series released under 2K Games, the game was developed cooperatively between both studios.

Take-Two also said 2K Games will have a “large presence” at E3 and show “many” of their upcoming games. It confirmed it has over ten new generation games in development.

More information about fiscal 2015 releases are planned for the upcoming months.

Multiple sources are saying that is it a new game. It could be that new Red Dead (seeing as it hasn't been officially announced) or a GTA title using a similar engine to V.

PlayStation Now to launch with hundreds of titles this Summer

PlayStation Now, Sony’s PlayStation game streaming service, will launch this summer with “hundreds of titles,” Sony said.

That is, according to Sony Computer Entertainment’s Todd Liss, speaking with IGN during an invite-only PlayStation event today.

The service is currently in closed beta. The launch is planned for this summer on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3, with PS Vita and other devices including TVs and tablets to follow.

Earlier today, some web-goers spotted PlayStation 3 games—including Dead Island: Riptide, The Last of Us, Far Cry 3, Grand Theft Auto V, Payday 2, Dead Space 3, and Diablo III—appearing on the PlayStation 4 PlayStation Store. Download options were not available, but we suspect they’re some of the titles you’ll be able to rent through PlayStation Now when it launches.

Google’s YouTube has reached a deal to buy Twitch, a popular videogame-streaming company, for more than $1 billion, according to sources familiar with the pact.

The deal, in an all-cash offer, is expected to be announced imminently, sources said. If completed the acquisition would be the most significant in the history of YouTube, which Google acquired in 2006 for $1.65 billion. The impending acquisition comes after longtime Google ad exec Susan Wojcicki was named CEO of YouTube earlier this year.

Reps for YouTube and Twitch declined to comment.

San Francisco-based Twitch lets users upload and watch free, live gameplay videos that can be streamed from Microsoft Xbox and PlayStation 4 consoles. The company claims to have more than 45 million monthly users, with more than 1 million members who upload videos each month. It also has deals to distribute shows from partners including CBS Interactive’s GameSpot, Joystiq and Destructoid.

YouTube is preparing for U.S. regulators to challenge the Twitch deal, according to sources. YouTube is far and away the No. 1 platform for Internet video, serving more than 6 billion hours of video per month to 1 billion users worldwide, and the company expects the Justice Department to take a hard look at whether buying Twitch raises anticompetitive issues in the online-video market.

Twitch was launched in June 2011 by Justin Kan and Emmett Shear, co-founders of Justin.tv, one of the first websites to host livestreaming user-generated video. Shear currently serves as CEO of Twitch.

Founded in 2011, the startup has raised about $35 million in funding. Investors include Bessemer Venture Partners, Alsop Louie Partners, WestSummit Capital, Take-Two Interactive Software, Thrive Capital and Draper Associates.

One of Twitch’s competitors is Major League Gaming, a New York-based company whose investors include Oak Investment Partners and Relativity Media CEO Ryan Cavanaugh.

In March 2014, Twitch represented 1.35% of all downstream bandwidth on North American fixed-access broadband networks — nearly triple from last fall, according to bandwidth-equipment company Sandvine.

Not much optimism if they only posted the one, on the last day, and it's 350k to achieve for a project that barely squeaked by the 775k goal. That said, wasn't big on backing a project that's essentially netting Sony free money at this point, but I wanted a new Amplitude, and Harmonix has a great track record.

Derby Warriors

Tecmo Koei sets up all kinds of Warriors collaborations in Japan like a 7 Up costume and a crossover with convenience store chain Lawson. So, Derby Warriors, a mashup of Samurai Warriors 4 with a horse racing game, really isn’t that strange, especially considering Tecmo Koei used to develop horse racing games like Championship Jockey.

Derby Warriors is a browser game where you pick a general and mow down enemies running at you. Yukimura Sanada, Nobunaga Oda, Oichi, and Shingen Takeda are immediately available as playable characters.

The Japan Racing Association worked with Tecmo Koei to create Derby Warriors as a promotion for the upcoming Japan Derby.
