That being said,

I actually prefer the GB version over the DS remake. But the DS version's opening theme is far superior.

Actually, I'll bite first on this one - I think the battle themes were the weakest part of the Xenogears soundtrack (except maybe Id's theme whenever he was in play).

Awakening and One Who Bares Fangs at God were fucking bossmode. Flight too, but I only count that as a battle theme because it DOES play when you fight the fucking Voltron wannabe thing and I think when Chuchu grows fuckhuge too but I don't remember if it actually does there.

Flight, Awakening, end boss battles and October Mermaid disagree (last is technically played during a boss fight).

Flight does play there. Also plays afterward during Maria's run for Seibzhen and the Nikolai fight. So I will give you those 3.
