I, too, noticed the difference in armor that isn't supposed to be there... but ultimately, that's an even smaller issue than how John introduced himself. I would have liked to have seen Kelly hit ludicrous speed, though, since they talk it up so much in the books. Would also have been nice to see some Linda hotness making impossible shots.
