I'm not sure people have issues with immigrants from countries other than Mexico.

El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicauragua?
Repubs like to point out that some people are coming to the US for the specific purpose of giving birth, creating an "Anchor Baby" that will give them a legal path to citizenship for the whole family in the future. It's not only "Mexicans," more and more it's wealthy Chinese:

SHANGHAI -- What can $14,750 buy you in modern China? Not a Tiffany diamond or a mini-sedan, say Robert Zhou and Daisy Chao. But for that price, they guarantee you something more lasting, with unquestioned future benefits: a U.S. passport and citizenship for your new baby.
Zhou and Chao, a husband and wife from Taiwan who now live in Shanghai, run one of China's oldest and most successful consultancies helping well-heeled expectant Chinese mothers travel to the United States to give birth.
trust me the GOP don't give a fuck about Chinese people.
I don't think Asians exist in the eyes of any politician.
Ever.
Well, except for
Being honduran and living legally in Canada because the US makes it really difficult to immigrate there legally. For the record, I have been to the US many times and I have no trouble getting a 10 yr B1/B2 tourist visa (I've had two so far and have been told is unusual to have a 2nd 10yr visa) but I can tell you I've always had issue when flying in to the US (except one time which was when I was immigrating to Canada), there's always a hispanic thicked accent cuban-american/puertorrican bullying me (why are you making a line here? Can't you see the red light... ME: It was green when I arrived and I've been here on this line for over an hour; Is there a problem officer? Sir, if there was a problem you'd be handcuffed and trown into prison, would you like me to get you some handcuffs .... among other events that escape me). I once had an interview at an engineering firm in Houston, met with a handful of engineers and the interviewer and office manager loved me but a week later they told me they'd pass on me because of the paperwork required to get me to work there.
Now why did I immigrate? I worked for a Caterpillar dealer back home, had a nice job where I would travel some 30% of the time, medical insurance (this is not common down there), bonus at the end of year, company phone paid by them, etc. Now I work for a call center troubleshooting computer issues who don't understand that XP and Windows are the same thing (Asked one if he/she/it was using XP and replied he/she/it was using Windows) where I had to wait a year for getting insurance, have not taken any vacations in two years and my scheduled vacations are cancelled due to the call center closing and laying everyone off in November, my degree has no value over here and just because i tend to mix up the names of the letters "G" and "J" in French (similar to English except switched around) people immediately assume I know no French (despite carrying a conversation in French up till the point I have to spell either G or J for some reason) and unable to enjoy myself due to lack of job stability (albeit I can be without a job for a year with my current savings). I come from what is now the most dangerous city in the world that isn't in a war, having a nice life down there was not worth it because you don't know at what point you are going to die because some punk decided to rob you (and kill you) cause you have X (x being something ridiculous like a watch, a blackberry, a backpack, an iphone, a credit card, a car, a ring, or simply you smell good because of your perfume/cologne) or simple being at the wrong time at the wrong place (stray bullet or just a common shootdown). As you can see, it is rather obvious why I decided to leave, yet my life did not suddenly become better but it was worth it because I know I will eventually be able to help my folks down there instead of being a body in a box cause someone looked at me funny. This is the main reason why so many people want to immigrate to the US and now people do it illegally (everyday there's some poor illegal immigrant story in the newspaper I read online and no, I am not condoning illegal immigration before it goes into that) and you guys don't help either since your immigration legislation is nigh impossible to navigate/understand to the point lots of people simply decide to fuck it and risk their lives to cross Rio Grande.
Apparently they don't teach paragraph breaks much in Honduras.
The process to become a legal citizen in the U.S is complete and utter bullshit. Now this may be somewhat of a extreme case, but my family started this process when i was in fifth grade. Guess what; im now a junior in college, and our case is still ongoing.
Is current US immigration policy designed to be easier for people with money? Because that's what it looks like.
Looks like? It is.
It is logical but not exactly moral depending on where you stand.
Yeah if you invest 1 mil into a U.S business or start a business and employ 5 americans for x ammount of years you will get your papers in an instant.
Are you guys trying to imply it's strange that a capitalist society/system prefers people with more money?
Also if you are smart. Isn't there some genius immigration law or something?
america is a land of euro americans. african americans are acceptable cuz if sprot. everyone else OUT
btw euro american is my term for white people. mainly cuz i fucking hate the term african american so much.
Can some of our European members enlighten us on the realities of immigration in their home nations? I wonder how much harder it is to get into the US compared to their counties.
