Even the employers who pay regular/above average wages don't bother, as long as you have a valid SSN (doesn't even need to be vaid for employment; just need the actual number).

EDIT: You know what? I feel bad for that joke. Considering that I'm on the side of immigrants arguing for acceptance, I give all of them who would work in fast food a bad name by associating them with someone as ignorant as you are. That, and I generally despise people who treat minimum wage workers like garbage.

Companies can run Social Security numbers, but many do not by choice. That's why undocumented immigrants may secure positions: the man in charge knows they're cheap, and why wouldn't they want that? Our government also benefits, as people who are undocumented are still funneling SS taxes into our coffers, which they can't even benefit from. If only those so against illegal immigrants knew what they were trying to throw away...

Well maybe i'm an asshole for being a little less accepting. My grandmother immigrated, went through the entire process and not once complained or asked for any assistance. Do I think children who are brought in as baby's and lived their entire lives here be deported? No. Do I think any person who waltzes in should get in immediately? No. If your country is that shitty and you don't want to go through immigration, go to another country then that will let anybody in. Hell I lost track at how many times the McDonalds I worked at in high school got raided by the INS just to see the guys deported back two weeks later. That shit was fucking retarded.

I think the only options with some form of practicality for a mexican immigrant would be Argentina or Chile. And both of those are much much farther away.

Got a few mexicans landscaping my yard this weekend. The foreman mexican is probably a citizen, but his buddies? Unlikely.

But man do those guys work, in the first hour of a 3-day job they had torn out every unwanted plant and weed from the entire yard and scraped the bark down to the topsoil. Shit's insane.

You wouldn't know that though because you've demonstrably never picked up a book nor educated yourself on the matter. Let me guess, overweight housewife?

Something i've always been curious is why Mexico isn't a developed country, they have a lot of resources (Oil, a lot of big companies there, tourism), i know they were on that way in the 1930's but after that they just went downhill (i guess mostly cuz that 70 years of Pri government), but still Mexico could be if not the best maybe just behind Brasil in Latin America as a country.

I don't think Mexicans would choose Argentina or Chile even if it was close enough.

What states are you guys from? Virginia mandates the usage of E-verify for employment. It isn't on the employer if they use the system, only if they try to pay under the table.

Would you be more accepting if the limitations on immigration were made realistic?

For example, while we have a tiny immigration quota, we operate all governmental functions based on the realistic inflow of immigrants (not just social services, but anything that considers population and population growth). Since the notion that we can keep out all illegal immigrants is imaginary, would you consider liberalizing quotas and streamlining the immigration process so that good/legal immigrants would be able to enter the country, and we could spend more time dealing with the problems that try to creep in?

The problems run deep i could TALK for hours on this subject but it boils down to Corrupt US/Mexican Government.
The US has been running covert ops in mexico/central/south america since forever.

The reason the cartels were able to grow so large and powerful is because before this WAR on drugs started, the Cartels would build hospitals and schools in their towns. so people looked up to them as saviors of the communities. The government would do NO such thing and that is why they were/are despised by most people.

Did you get your history of the Drug War on www.potheadsRus.com?

I am not saying that the Drug war is a good thing, but seriously, it's like your are reading from an "Ancient Aliens" script.

So Is there a specific reason why there is a cap on how many green cards are issued annually?
