Good for them, we'll see much bigger prize pots from here on out. Only thing is will we still be seeing our usual majors? Or will they all be scrapped for ipl to control?

Oh God, anyone who thinks that is truely ignorant...
Wait...IPL is IGN? That site is atrocious and notoriously bought and paid for by developers lol. Hope it doesn't affect the fgc any.
It was blatantly obvious Capcom was going to go with IPL.
That's some Sundance conspiracy bullshit right there. Capcom owns the IP. Cannons/Wiz have no power to prevent Capcom from doing whatever they want. Neither did Seth Killian while he was there. If anything, this further points to an ongoing issue between Capcom and MLG, but no one wants to come out and just say what it is (instead of coming out and just saying where the stop is, Sundance tries to pin it on EVO with vague statements).
I think the bigger problem though is whether or not this is going to impact Dreamhack, since 1. they run SF4 and 2. now they have a sort of partnership with MLG.
All of that being said, agreed that IPL will most likely get MVC3. Chances are Disney/Marvel have to be at the negotiating table before it can be used (Namco might have already given their blessing for SFxT, or it's a part of the licensing agreement for SFxT/TxSF, which may be a loophole Namco could use to get TxSF at MLG).
Fixed the above where accurate. KOF13 had a side tournament at Dallas. Had no idea if SC5 had anything, but a lot of the top players went to Youmacon. Some of the top TTT2 players went to Youmacon as well. So, IPL has
DOA5
SSFIVAE
SFXT
And MLG has
KOFXIII - Lack of community and MLG didn't want to do any community building. Was dropped after the 2nd main event it was featured and never had an Arena.
SC5 - Numbers have decreased to the point where it was dropped before MLG Dallas.
MK9
TTT2
Also worth noting, MLG pushed to get Atlus to give them P4U, but Atlus turned around and said no (Arturo has confirmed this on his stream).
RE: Impacting majors. lol
Thanks for that update. I was having trouble finding exactly which games MLG had currently.
My only issue with MLG is that their streams are horrible... Showing one match like every half hour with analysis and commercials in between. Is IPL like that too?
They're the fags who bombard you with Dr. Pepper commercials and promos right lol?
The only IPL stream I've seen was extremely bad, worse than MLG. Some dumb vana white chick announcing matches, 20-30 minutes between sets. More of the same esports bullshit. My expectations are low.
So what exactly does this mean since majors won't be touched? Additional tourneys under the IPL brand with fat lootz?
Yes. And those streams usually have long between times because their events have like 16-32 teams max, if that. Most have 8. If they don't drag it out, it would be over before Saturday night.
If it gets on with the Capcom crowd, 100's of people would show up and they would have a ton of matches going on steam.
Warc is thinking of SXSW. And hey, Rachel Quirico is legit.
Welt highlighted a part of the issue (low turnout). However, even SC2 suffered the same problem when I went to MLG Orlando last year.My only issue with MLG is that their streams are horrible... Showing one match like every half hour with analysis and commercials in between. Is IPL like that too?
The other part of the issue is that they don't know how to fill that time well. Some of the things they do to try to fill that time look forced. The interviews usually look like shit (both interviewer and interviewee look awkward and the questions are bland). Post-match analysis turns into two guys shooting shit but nothing to show (would be nice to get some footage from the previous match to point out good plays). Some of their choices for commentary are out there. Refer to my sig on that one, although I do like who they have brought in for TTT2 thus far.
Speaking of said sig, our locals have a kid that's handicapped. Like Broly. Really nice kid though. Apparently the other day he was playing against Juicebox on stream and made him rage the fuck out. Brought a tear to my eye.
So if you ever want to make Juicebox flip out, pick Boxer.
And the cries are already ringing out: "SPOOBY PLS!!!!!" echoed throughout the night...
LOLOL the first SFxTK 2013 game on stream went to time out fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu u
this is my surprised face
also I've been mentioning a bit after getting requests re: my full streaming setup, now that I have things more or less shored up unless I go esports or win the lottery, going to have a little writeup on the setup, recommended items, etc.
Actually pretty happy with where things are at now, anyone who hasn't seen my stream recently, it looks and sounds legit as fuck now outside of Chicago having dick all for commentators.
Only reason i asked about majors being scrapped is cuz you know how esports are with making all their shit their own. I doubt it'll happen and it'll be a dumbass move. Higher prize pots tho are gonna be great. But i dono how they'll handle certain streams, their LoL streams are fucking horrendous. Ads everywhere, i fall asleep a lot cuz of subpar commentating (2 totally different games i know, but there's no commentating duo like yipes/combofiend), and the fact that it takes 30 min inbetween matches really sucks. We'll see tho, these guys have a lot of research to do.
