2012 is the most recent, but people generally refer to the game as just plain old AE to save syllables/keystrokes.

Except for charge characters in SF4 (stick onry), there's really no difference to me between a stick and a PlayStation controller.
Irrelevant, you can get PS3 controllers for xbox (Zeus plays on PS3 controller and I'm 95% sure next level is 360).
Calli you need to come to terms that j. FP is getting nerfed. You should have seen arturo ranting about how OP sakura is at NLBC last night lmao.
@Krandor Err... Viper is a lot easier on stick. Plinking is possible, but it feels more natural to me on a stick. Developing timings to me is easier on stick as well personally. But many pad players have proven that the differences are irrelevant to being able to play at a high level.
Yeah I have never in my life seen someone using a regular XBox controller, usually they either use PS pads with a converter or MadCatz pads.
I know it's getting nerfed, and I don't even really have an issue with that, the thing is what they give her to make up for it. If they just nerf it without replacing it something, she automatically loses to matchups she's currently even or even down in, Shotos/Gouken/Guile/Chun/Juri can all zone her for free without it.
I don't see how.. ex Otoshi, ex Tatsu is completely fireball invincible, her own fireball (no matter how bad it may be). But seriously, ex Otoshi can punish full screen fireballs on reaction and is safe on block, and tracks... You know the character more than me, but it seems to me she has the tools around that. Vega has no options besides walking and jumping, but also has the best walk speed so its not that big of a deal. Compared to someone like Zangief... I don't see the complaints.
I really need to learn control space. How hard is it to react to fireball start up and punish with a 4f move?
ftr my idea was invincible startup M.Shou in exchange for nerfing J.HP boxes. It gives her a reversal without meter which she doesn't currently have, but still keeps it so that you can still approach from the air against on knockdown without being open to reversals. That would give her a tool to pass through bad fireballs in the neutral game without jumping, it starts up slowly enough that you would still need to make a reasonable read on something like Sonic Booms/Gouken hados. Leave L and H.Shou as they are, decrease M.Shou damage from 145 to 130 or 125.
^ that reminds me of the Honda headbutt passing though fireball in HD remix... no thanks ;o
All these assholes want insane stuff for their characters and I'd be content with removing a frame on cr. lp and that'd be it.
Best 3f move in the game. Actually, having that option would be awesome considering how throw dependent vega is.
EX.Otoshi works full screen yes, but only if you read the fireball, you can't just do it on reaction, and it's 'safe' in that you can't punish with a normal, but you can easily throw punish it(it's -2 and leaves you directly next to them, and that's if they don't just DP or do a move that lowers their hitbox to make it whiff, in which case they can full punish). It does nothing to get in vs. someone like Guile or Gouken because of their recovery times. Same with EX.Tatsu, you have to do it as a read, not as a reaction since it's only projectile invincible during the middle of the move(not until 7 frames in), if you try it on reaction you can still get DP'd/Cr.HP'd out of it...and all that aside, that means that until you have one bar, you still have no entry tool, so you're zoned for free until you build that bar, and when you do get in you have no meter to do anything. Her only tool for building meter in that situation is throwing fireballs back or NJ tatsu, both of which typically build meter at a slower rate than the person zoning her.
The point with J.HP is that once you're in footsies range, regardless of your meter stock they have to respect the threat of it and play footsies with you, where she'll at least be even if not have an advantage.
The stock ps3 controller adds several frames of input lag, even when running via usb on a device with no bluetooth. It's complete shit.
Even if they replaced sakura's j. hp with literally nothing, she would still be better at getting in vs those characters than most of the cast.
I think I just disagree on your mentality. Watching chrisg play Sagat and Guile (I think we can agree they are two of the best fireball zoners, right?), there's absolutely no way that he gets zoned for free. This is discounting the j. FP bullshit. j. FP just makes it so that you can safely jump in from a farther range than normally (cross up type stuff). There's characters with MUCH worse footsie tools than sakura. Look at her cr. MK, its really fucking good. No hurtbox at the tip, is able to convert into a DP at max range, comes out in 5 frames and has 4 active frames... Best in the game? She's tied for the 12th fastest walk speed (4th tier), that means there's 24 characters with worse walk speed. Top this off with one of the BEST focuses in the game. You shouldn't be able to jump in for free in this game, and removing j. FP just makes it so you can't be brain dead with your jumps. Think I saw chrisg STUFF and COMBO 4-5 DPs from sanford last night. That's NOT including the 10s of trades with DP (which is bad for sakura in this case because a trade is in Sagat's favor, but every other match up, trade is in Sakura's favor).
Her jump FP straight crushes and dominates almost everything. The whole "you aren't timing your AA right" is absolutely silly. Art has harped on that move for the last 2 years every single time Sakura is on stream and he is on the mic.
I wouldn't put Sagat next to Guile at all, if anything I'd put Gouken there. You can easily work your way in vs. Sagat with neutral jumps and inching foward. And J.HP actually shorts your jump-in range because it doesn't reach far horizontally, the issue is that it just beats many AAs clean. Trades with shoto DPs aren't in her favor, especially with Ryu since a trade = free Super/Ultra for him(Ken can H.DP after) on top of it wouldn't even trade if they used M.DP instead of L.
Art is salty because she wrecks Dhalsim if she gets in, lol. I'm not saying the move isn't busted, and I agree with it being nerfed, but I don't think anyone gives any consideration to where that'd leave the character if she gets nothing in exchange. Yes, her Cr.MK is very good, but that does nothing if they can just downback the whole time then squarely AA every jump-in.
Unrelated, but listening to that last OBS at work and ChrisG is the saltiest guy ever lol, literally gives SenorTaxi absolutely 0 credit. Yes lag fucked him over, but it's not like Taxi was total ass, he had a decent game plan and a team well put-together to combat Morridoom. Lag didn't cause Doom to get the shit sniped out of him by magnums. Also Chris was bothered by Taxi's celebration after winning...what the fuck would you do if you were a guy that didn't crack top 8 at locals and just beat the best player in the world? I would rip my fucking shirt off like I just won the World Cup and stage-dive into the crowd.
Sorry, but you just said he doesn't crack top 8 at locals and that he wasn't total ass. He cannot be both. He is total ass![]()
I will never understand for the life of me how Wolfkrone managed his pad Viper the way he did. Godlike skill....
