I kinda wish some tourneys decide to use the Xbox One as their machines if only to see the drama when this happens during a hype match.

I can see Jayce beating Art because it's a terrible match up, but I think otherwise I see art there. Chrisg can beat all 3. Doesn't sakura beat Viper?

I agree that Chris can beat them but no, Sakura does not have a favorable matchup with Viper, it's even at best.

Yes Chicago's lol @ Capcom but as far as local guys who have a chance to make a splash:

AE:
Spriggan(Akuma, wins almost all of our local stuff as of recent)
Scrimps(Chun, he's from NW Indiana, doesn't make a ton of stuff but iirc he placed top 5 at MWC a few years back)
GLB(Ryu, I don't see him winning but he's solid enough to make top 16 probably)
Big Marcus(Bison, from Central IL, really solid but gets flustered and/or drunk)

Marvel:
Brightside(the guy who beat Dieminion and came 2nd to ChrisG last year)
Zansam(Has some reeaalll interesting Frank tech you guys may see come out, also I'll have a tech video of this soon)
FrankieG(more or less Andre-level but he's been playing better recently)

Injustice:
Anyone on team GGA, don't forget that NRS is in Chicago and almost all of them were testers at some point, plus it's the country's strongest MK team

Persona:
ShinSyn(Narukami, great anime player but sometimes shits the bed in tourney matches)
Grant(Called Kanji Gimmick-Lord of the Midwest, he's not the most fundamentally sound but he has some ridiculous setups)
ChosenNinja(Yukiko, real solid plus strong character)

Skullgirls:
Duckator, noone else really should have bothered entering

Yeah, he doesn't get to make it out to a lot of events but his Guy is sick and he will have an advantage from lack of matchup knowledge over lots of people.

also just personal predictions:

Latif takes AE. I think Krone's better defensively, but our better local players have tons of experience against him and I think he'll suffer at least one loss on the way to top 16.

Chris takes Marvel, none of the people who can beat him are showing up.

Arturo isn't confirmed as coming, Chris probably takes SFxTK too but we do have a couple of local killers, though one of our strongest doesn't have a lot if tourney experience, too much online play.

Yes, even with the patch finally out on 360 PS3 version is still superior as 360 has the fuzzy sprites on incoming deal

aaaand last thought on it from me really: Yes UFGT isn't going to have all the big-name competition so from a stream monster perspective it'll probably be a sub-par event.

As an actual tournament goer, the venue is S-tier, there's TONS of stuff to do other than the actual competition, and some middling guys may have a chance to actually make a splash. Yes seeing EG/Infiltration is great, but for up-and-comers having a chance to get to top 16 might be a huge building block for improvement. I'm pretty excited for it, going to try to get in MMs with Valle/ChrisG, and I think I have a legitimate shot of getting out of my pool if I can keep my nerves calm and not shit the bed.

Tip: After Viper backthrow...if he just walks up then jumps + FK (the thing I hit you with about 9/10 times), just hold back...most of the time people won't use it to cross-up, but it can.

It is very ambiguous, but most of the time it hits front.

Yeah I figured that out after a bit. Obviously I won't have the same issues with links offline, though one thing I wasn't able to get working that I think theoretically should is to OS throw into safe jump landings to blow up EX seismo. I was able to do it with EX dp but couldn't get the throw to come out online.

Anybody who plays Viper would wonder how anybody would get hit by this at all, but a lot of people do ;o

Its actually difficult to time as a cross-up because of different character hitboxes. It is very easy to whiff it because of this when going for a cross-up, so most people just make it look like a cross-up and land in the front.

When it does land cross-up, oh boy, you're taking some damage lol.
