You have to look at it from his point of view. He's a CEO; when you're the chief officer of a company, anything and everything can be used against you in different ways-- so in doing an AMA, he has to not only be transparent, but he has to navigate illegitimate and/or legitimate concerns with extra care so as to not tarnish the name of his company, hence the robotic response he gave. I'm sure he knew Honzo was trolling, but that doesn't stop the AMA from being public towards the greater Reddit community.
