Is there any reason that doesn't need verification? I didn't say it shouldn't have been allowed, did I? No, I didn't. I didn't say verification was needed or whatever else you're trying to put in my mouth. I'm saying that people should stop being pussies for having to play their team mates. If you can't keep a competitive edge verse a team mate, you shouldn't bother entering. If they were in GF, would they have forfeited?

I never said their reasoning wasn't legitimate, I just was asking what is the deal with people not being able to play their team mates. If you get to the top 8, it's going to happen. The problem with your posts is that you're projecting a different situation onto this one. You don't understand why people on the same team don't want to play each other, and that's fine. That has nothing to do with the Stevens brothers. Having competed against them in tournaments ranging from DDR to CvS2 to fucking Taiko no Tatsujin for over 10 years, I can tell you they have no problem playing against each other. Now, I wasn't at GUTS, but knowing those two as well as I do, I am fairly confident in saying that the forfeit was probably to try and advance the person who would have more potentially favorable match ups the rest of the way. It had nothing to do with not wanting to play teammates or any other lame shit.

EDIT: And for the record, I stomped Weaksauce in the finals of that Taiko no Tatsujin tournament.

Hmmm, I can understand forfeiting in that case because they didn't want to fix the match. That said... They play cammy and viper. Cammy has no bad match ups, but it was probably because he was new to cammy? Still think that's lame. Same team or not, I'd still want to beat them and potentially blow someone up with a bad match up (IE, Dieminion blew up Kbrad in a 7-3 match up, so it's not impossible).
