Battlefield 4 developers DICE have some surprises in store for anyone currently enjoying the military-inspired first-person shooter on either the Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 or PC.

In a letter addressed to all Battlefield fans, DICE executive producer Karl Magnus Troedsson writes that while the team is more than proud to have launched Battlefield 4 across five different platforms, they are “less proud to see that the game has experienced some turbulence during the launch period.”

“While some platforms have had only minor problems, others have had more than their fair share of issues,” Troedsson continued. “Resolving the launch issues is our #1 priority. In fact, we are so serious that we have the entire team working to stabilize the game and we will not move on to other projects until we are sure that Battlefield 4 meets – and exceeds – your expectations. It is the right thing to do.”

In order to help smooth things over while the studio works tirelessly on updates, fixes, and patches, and to also show a measure of gratitude for your patience, DICE comes bearing gifts in the form of double XP and a unique weapon attachment.

“To show our appreciation for your patience as we work through these issues, we are announcing that from November 28 through December 5, we will reward all players with Double XP for every multiplayer match they complete,” Troedsson writes. “We understand that the launch issues may have impacted your progression, and we want to do everything we can to help you get back the XP that you may have lost. Also, to cap off the week, on December 5 we will give all players that log in to Battlefield 4 multiplayer a M1911 pistol scope. This special sidearm scope, previously reserved for our DICE developers, has a 3X zoom and is available for all classes in Battlefield 4.”

Playing on ps4 conquest right now. Seems to be working just fine, full game of 64 + 2 commanders

I hope that's the case. The game was damn near unplayable.

I played today for about 2 hours. Had one crash when I tried to open Battlelog during a cutscene but the error code was new. Surprisingly, a technician mailed me back within a minute of me reporting it (error code was new) and we chatted for a bit. Tried to replicate the problem but couldn't get it to happen again. He said it could have been a fluke but as a precaution he had me restart it. No problems/slowdowns or glitches except some mapping issues that I chalked up to minor lag. Seems it's back on track and I'm enjoying it very much so.

Watching a stream of BF4 on Xbone and it actually seems to run smoother than it does on PS4, almost like the game is sped up in a sense... If that makes sense.

I hated this at first since I was used to BF3 but I've kind of gotten used to it.

Vehicles have a different feel. It seems like my character is sitting farther away from the fronts/screens of vehicles than in BF3. Helicopters require a bit more care and jets seems a lot easier with solely keyboard.

I lock on Dawnbreaker every single time I play that map now for some reason. Never had a problem with it before. But after about 10 minutes or so BAM frozen. It sucks ass.

Game is working a lot better for me. Played Single player mission without hiccups or crash. Along with lots of multiplayer.

I am having an issue where the game is creating a dead pixel whenever I play. It goes away when I am at any menu screen, but when i am in game it pops up. It is in the top left corner of my screen.

Still looking for friendly people to play with on ps4! on a side note, How the fuck do you use the jdam bombs on the attack jet, I cant seem to get a kill at all even though i drop it over enemy locations

Man, I was playing yesterday and found out there is map just like the Cradle from Goldeneye. I got a kick out of that.

Now to find a way to get it to fall directly on some guy getting defib'd.

One-Hit Kill bug to be fixed next week

Battlefield 4′s next PC patch is almost upon us, and among its various fixes and adjustments is a solution to the one-hit kill bug.

“We are verifying the upcoming PC patch and making sure it is good to go. We are aiming to get this patch out the week of Dec 2,” a post on Battlelog announced.

The patch is expected to address the following problems:

• Removed the blur effect on soldiers that appeared when Commanders were using EMP attacks
• Fixed the audio bug where audio sometimes randomly dropped out while playing on certain multiplayer maps (typically Golmud Railway and Hainan Resort)
• Fixed the “one-hit kill bug” where occasionally damage from a single bullet was applied multiple times
• Fixed a common crash that would occur when exiting from the Single Player Campaign to Main Menu
• Tweaked the network and computer performance screen to show proper values. Players can now test their computer and network connection and get recommendations if they need to adjust something to improve their gameplay experience.

Second Assault now available on XB1, most can't download

Battlefield 4: Second Assault is out now and exclusive to Xbox One, but many gamer has experienced difficulty in downloading the pack. EA has responded to the matter and is investigating now.

Gamers have taken to the Battlelog forum to share in their displeasure. it seems that when trying to view and download the pack from the in-game Premium store, the content is simply called, “NULL DATA”, the descriptor reads, “null description”, and the price field simply reads, “empty.” It can’t be downloaded at all.

A spokesperson for EA, dubbed ‘EA_Rick’ has since responded to angry fans. He said, “I know some of you have said already that it is being looked into, I wanted to just confirm that for you so you guys have a blue [staff] post to refer to. Right now all I can say is that we are aware of this issue and are currently investigating this with Microsoft. Once we have some more details I’ll be sure to let you know.”
