Did they fix the sp save getting erased?
Mantle update came out today for those rocking supported AMD cards, the drivers are delayed until who knows when though. They were set to be released until AMD found some huge bug and pulled them.
I love that to even play during "Player Appreciation Month" I have to use regedit to remind Battlelog that yes in fact, I do have the DLC installed. But outside of that and having to completely reinstall Punkbuster the game seems alot less buggy now.
I wish they provided the shortcut packs for shotguns and pistols at the start of the month. No telling when they will add.
Mantle doesn't work with sweetfx or Radeonpro, not surprised but lame nonetheless. Hope that gets figured out before Dragon Age rolls around.
I'm still a bit confused on what Mantle actually is. Is it supposed to make games ported from console easier to create and give better ports? Or just better optimization for AMD on cross platforms?
It's more or less DirectX (I'd include OpenGL but I don't know what still uses that if anything) specifically for newer AMD cards. Idea is to remove the programming overhead put in place by DirectX and give the software a closer interaction with the hardware.
It's along the idea of how most consoles function, by removing variance in hardware and letting the game write directly to the hardware. And since so many games will likely be AMD optimized in the future, it could lead to a big one up for them.
I'm not sure if you just mean PC only, but PS3/PS4 does indeed utilize OpenGL (Despite PS4 using a 11.1 DX equivalent, OGL is still supported I believe).
I think Valve still plays with it too, given their strong stance of OpenGL > DX (Which I particularly agree with [mainly having used both, I feel opengl is a little easier to use]).
Just got ps4 version. Wow is it insane compared to ps3, overwhelming quality of gameplay, a+ graphics and intense 32v32
I was generally referring to PC yeah. I'm kind of hoping Mantle opens up the doors a bit and convinces some publishers to get away from DirectX. At the end of the day it kind of sucks, but is so far embedded into Windows that there's really no option but to use it most of the time.
Anyone have the launch edition on PS4 w/ the China Rising DLC Code included?
When the hell do we get access to China Rising. I put the code in when I purchased the game at launch, and see that it was accepted and installed. I still have no access to any China Rising DLC though -_-

You know what would be awesome? Those vehicle balance changes they talked about like a month ago.
@_@ Thus far their approach to "balance" is just to not put the established unbalanced things (Attack Jet, Mobile AA) in half of the new content, while adding NEW unbalanced shit (DAO-12, Metro). All the while refusing to buff the things that need buffs, like the Attack Chopper.
It's been completely one-sided any time I've played that map, just like Locker. There are freak occurrences where the match is close but it's really a case of the exception that proves the rule.
