What the fuck are you talking about? The olympics are going fantastically, an inordinate amount of preparation has gone in to it.

I abhor the sponsorship of the event; Coca-cola going all over the country with the torch, McDonalds being the 'official restaurant' and having their biggest restaurant in the world on the olympic park etc. But the actual competition has captured the puclic imagination completely. People at work talk about nothing but what sports they watched last night and how they would never think it would actually be entertaining. The papers and TV are all about the olympic winners and the stories behind people like Hamadou Djibo Issaka. For 3 weeks i don't have to listen to people moaning about their boss or the media talking about Angela Merkel holding the eurozone to ransom or about public services being cut.

And if you actually did watch any of these fuck-ups, you would know that the judges are selected from across the globe so, if they had won the bid, could just as easily have been in Chicago in 2016 making the USA 'look weak'.

My main weekend viewing will be track cycling, the speed Chris Hoy can work up is unbelievable. That and finding highlights of the 481lbs judo guy from Guam.

yeah people don't seem to be grasping the difference between "someone" fucking with certain judging here (none of which has had to do with Britain directly, right?), and the chinese blatantly getting shit rigged for themselves in beijing
