I don't understand what you're trying to argue with me against. From what i'm getting your issue simply boils down to you not liking how harsh my statement sounded. Maybe you don't like the statement that you value spicy chicken more than the rights of gay people. That's fine. If you want me to phrase it in a nicer sounding way, just let me know. Just know that i don't judge you for having other priorities besides gay rights. You're a straight man, how can i possibly expect you to care about our issues when there are even gay men who proudly say they will continue to eat at chick a fil a because being gay doesn't define them?
I don't really mind it if you just don't care that much about this companies' anti gay stance, since i don't set the bar that high for straight people in general when it comes these issues. In fact i commend your bluntness on how important gay rights issues are to you, because what we need is more straight people who pay less lip service to gay issues and are more honest where they stand with gay people. Really, good for you.
Is this one of those reverse psychology things?
It's sort of a passive aggressive talking down from what I can gather. I'm not mad at you, I applaud you, I appreciate your honesty and I will lace these comments with my overall disdain for your views and ignore anything you said.
Are you implying that someone can't care about lgbt rights and still eat at chick-a-fil-a?You're a straight man, how can i possibly expect you to care about our issues when there are even gay men who proudly say they will continue to eat at chick a fil a because being gay doesn't define them?
Well, being part of the affected community in question, it is only natural for me to disdain your behavior. Just as it is natural to admit that i cannot do anything to stop you from eating at this place, so the only thing i can do is wish you well and move on.
I've seen stranger things in life. So no, not at all. People believe in a lot of things.
What if the Republic we fought to protect no longer exists? What if it's become the very evil we were fighting against!?
If I had to put a value on gay rights, id say it's priceless. So gay rights > $6.50 Meal #1.
What does gay rights taste like?
What does the gay rights Happy Meal toy look like?
I feel like having Chik Fil A for lunch today after reading this thread, not surprised its in the catholic hospital I work at.
After over 600 posts, finally, a straight answer from you. So proud of you <3Therefore, I will have to answer no. I have said nothing of the sort.
Chik Fil A is so good but my God their shit is terrible for you. Ever look at the nutritional value for their food? It's staggering.
So someone who says gay marriage isn't number 1 priority for them because they're a straight male or someone who votes for a President that is against gay marriage or someone who chooses to eat chick fil a is displaying apathy at best and is standing up to tell the gay community that they don't give a shit about them no matter what? Cause that's basically what you told me before.. but you never asked me how the fuck I voted on prop 8 all you care about is if someone votes for a President who opposes gay marriage or if they eat at chick fil a... that makes sense. How someone votes on the particular proposition that directly affects the gay community is less of an indication of how that person feels or who they side of the issue they support.
I'm also sick of people talking about someone who doesn't support gay marriage or is against it like they're evil fucks in this thread. like seriously WTF. I have friends who voted Yes on Prop 8, guess what they aren't evil pieces of shit who go around gay bashing people they just have different opinions on marriage.
I really don't see the point in voting against it. If it's packaged with other shit (like presidency) that's one thing. Something like prop 8, where that's the only issue.
I look at it this way, if it doesn't directly effect me, why do I give a shit (whether I'm for it or against it). At worst, I'd just not vote on it at all if I didn't have any feelings towards it.
but what is 2 homosexuals getting married going to do to me? Nothing. I see no reason to go out of the way to go against it.
Now if two gay people getting married were going to somehow raise my taxes by a noticeable amount, or stop me from getting $1,000,000, or stop the production of videogames etc. then it'd make sense to vote against it because it'd have a negative outcome.
pretty much, anyone who voted against it, I won't call them evil like like some people in here, but they certainly are salty as fuck
