Qalbert, you are honestly bordering on pathetic at this point. I have been asked why I give Chick-Fil-A and Westboro Baptist Church validity by giving them attention. In saying that, people have attempted to shift responsibility from themselves to me, the party calling attention to the issue at hand.

The subject I tried speaking about in the original post wasn't about me. The issue is important to me, but that shouldn't invalidate the fact that it's a genuine, actual issue that needs to be tackled. It's important to stop hate crime against minorities because for one it speaks volumes about us as a civilization. Crime is indeed always going to happen and it's always a tragedy, but we should uplift ourselves to the point where it's not the norm for people to go and attack people for reasons out of their control. These prejudices still exist and it's the duty of everybody with a head on their shoulders to call it out when it arises. Do you understand that? We are still very much so fighting an upward battle. Any attempt to invalidate or ignore that is retrograde and needs to stop.

Point in fact if you are blaming a single race, religion, sexuality for something when you have no rational means to back it up, then yes it is discrimination. And again, as I pointed out in PM's and you basically called me a bigot for, the whole reason why they started classifying crimes against the LGBT group was due to people pleading down to a simple assault, which depending on your criminal record could keep you out of jail since it's a misdemeanor. The crimes you listed were so heinous, there was no reason to charge it as a hate crime since you have several felonies including arson, kidnapping, assault and battery, attempted murder, unlawful detention, etc that even if the perpetrators have a completely clean criminal record, they would be looking at 25 to life right off the bat.

Here's a protip for you Celeste. The vast majority of hate crimes are not even hate crimes. When you have groups like the ALCU suing cause it's not fair to drug test poor people to ensure tax dollars are not going to junkies, just about every crime is a hate crime. Random person punches a black guy, HATE CRIME. Random girl gets beat up and she's a lesbian. HATE CRIME. Random minority assaults a Straight white person. I am not biased towards SAWCM. I am simply aware of the fact that they are the majority on this planet and constantly discriminate and perpetuate violence against minorities that have substantially less power than they do.
