Yes, i'm intolerant of people trying to oppress others for the silliest of reasons. I guess that makes me a bigot. I'm ok with that though.

And fyi, we aren't talking about not supporting gay marriage. Not liking it is one thing, arguing against it is another entirely.

Don't know about "evil", but yes, if you advocate withholding rights you are free to enjoy yourself from a certain group defined only by sexual preference, you're a bigot.

Do you know what "bigot" means? You don't seem to.

Let's be fair, while religion is obviously the huge majority when it comes to gay marriage opposition, there are plenty of atheists who are against it. Simply because of unwanted mental images.

Just to make sure I'm following here, if I'm not understanding or open minded to things like the KKK or Aryan Youth I'm a bigot too since they hold different sets of beliefs and values that I find repulsive and abhorrent? Is this correct (according to Tweek)?

some would disagree with hey but I'm sure everyone here would rather just call them bigots, it's so much easier to assume and generalize than actually asking people their opinions right? Here are a few articles about it, there are more. Or you could always go and actually talk to people about how they feel and why they feel. Ask them if they hate gay people too.

The unwanted mental images loops back to some level of religious indoctrination that defines same-sex sexual behavior as abhorrent and blasphemous. While you can identify as atheist while hanging on to certain societal practices you're still drawing upon religious ideology as the source of opposition in such a case.

Really?? Maybe I just roll with an enlightened crowd, and I don't live in the south, but I've NEVER met or head of an atheist who opposes gay marriage. I mean, I'm sure there are a couple out there, but "plenty"? I'm seriously curious if this is something you come across?

honestly I feel that's nitpicking. you have too many variables to go along with that as well. stereotype of women and men roles. stereotyping of gays being being effeminate. There are tons of people out there that find dicks touching gross, but lesbians are hot. Religion is against both, however. And I don't think traditionally lesbians have always been hot.
