You'd think the gay community would want more sympathy to help further their cause, but I guess going about it while being an asshole is just as good.
And the worst part is, with all that greasy food you're eating and all the anger i'm causing, i might just be the end of you.

Assuming I eat $2000 of chik fil a a year, when in reality it's closer to $30 or $40. Which makes it even more unbelievable to me that you, or any one, would alienate so many people who might casually snack on chik fil a two or three times a year, when the day might come when you need those very same people to vote in a law that would give equality to homosexuals in the country.

I'd still vote for it for ya Kuya, but only cause I'm nice like that. Others, not so much.

As queen of the gays, for whom's behavior the gay community should be held responsible in a manner in which heterosexuals are never held to account, I personally feel that we can accept a few losses. You can eat your chicken in peace.

You wouldn't think that, since I get a spicy chicken wrap from chik fil a once or twice a year.

Then why would not eating there any more in order to protest their anti-gay stance be a problem? You're clearly not that invested in their food.

Edit: "food", just google'd it and it looks even more revolting than most fast food. Also the name makes me think of raw chicken, which doesn't help.

While the gay community does unfortunately have to deal with the reality that we have less power and thus we must accommodate within reason, i personally feel that gay people shouldn't bend over backwards to appease some straight people who threaten to withhold support if they aren't treated in whatever way they feel entitled to. There are people who support gay people out of principle and expect nothing in return, and others who support gay people and expect to be treated differently, and i think we can do with a little less from the latter group.

I agree, supporting the gay community with out expecting anything in return is the way to do it. I wouldn't expect a foot rub in exchange for a vote in favor of equal rights.

But there's still something to be said for pointing your finger and verbally or otherwise insulting or assaulting a person, because they indirectly gave 2 pennies to an anti gay agenda.

Also, I shouldn't have to give up chik fil a (although I probably will now), otherwise the terrorists win (they won).

Well next time, try not to threaten to punch a queer person in the face and then talk about how they should be nicer if they want support from straight people in a thread titled violence against the lgbt community. I would call this irony if i were a canadian singer.

Not saying you need to be nicer or else you won't get my support. I'm saying don't be surprised when otherwise "not horrible" people are more apathetic to your cause because you, and others, get your undies in a bunch because they're not concerned with literally giving a penny or two to an anti gay agenda. Especially when you're probably hurting more then you're helping (any news articles on chik fil a sales since the protests started).

Also, should we be more outraged cause its a homosexual threatened? Would you be so concerned if a cis-hetero male was threatened? (I don't know if I'm doing it right)

Is it okay if I went to chick-fil-a and upped my gayness to 11 to troll everyone there. Then donated 5 meals worth of money to GLAAD? I got my delicious food, anti-gay people got their money and my fellow friends of dorothy got 5x that? Everyone wins! Right?! Or am I doing it wrong

The summer of 2012 will go down in history as the summer that gays were attacked by a chicken sandwich. I look forward to explaining this to my grandchildren.

I mean, fight the good fight, whatever, but I think it hurts their cause a lot more then it helps. I love the food at Chik-fil-A and they have the right to their own opinion. I may or may not agree with it, but I go there to eat what I believe to be some delicious food. When I go there, the people behind the counter aren't preaching to me that I should stay away from gays, or that being gay is a sin and I am going to hell if I were gay. If that was the case it would be a different story. What bothers me the most is that these same people who say that eating at chik-fil-a is giving money to an anti-gay group or cause don't realize that there are other companies or individuals within those companies that are against gays as well. Exxon, Walmart, Carl's Jr, A1 Self Storage, Urban Outfitters(see below)... these companies come to mind yet we don't see them getting upset about it nor boycotting them. You can't pick and choose your battles.

    From what I can remember:
Exxon - they don't have any policies in the work place to prohibit harassment against those who are openly gay
Walmart - The son of the founder of Walmart gave a large contribution to a campaign to prevent gay couples from adopting children in Arkansas
Carl's Jr - Carl Karcher was known for disliking gays (and was against abortion). He in fact supported a proposition that would allow schools to fire teachers who were gay or advocated being gay.
A1 Self storage - The founder gave a large contribution to support Prop 8 in California
Urban Outfitters - Donated money to Rick Santorum and also had Anti Gay Prop 8 shirts sold in their stores
