Magian would only be about 7.6% better in day/weather. Would potentially get lower as you add more day/weather stuff.
I've personally always had all 8 hq staves from waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay (2005) back in the day, so this is just inventory saver. Sure, I'll sack 10 r.att for my cor, I can deal with that.
thats what the control tests were, it works like a proper HQ elemental staff
And which is it since it hasn't been mentioned?
It's multiplicative in the same way that other HQ staves are
side note: this is totally the best cure staff for SCH
I had just had to chuckle when i read what other wiki has to say on the staff
From otherwiki
sigh..Iridescence
Increases all magic damage dealt by 15%
Increases Magic Accuracy by 15%
Damn they updated it. As of my last post it had instead said increases light magic dmg 15% decreases dark dmg 15% lol
Theyre still incorrect
False statement.Note: This is equivalent to the Magian Staff terminology of Affinity: Magic Damage +2 and Affinity: Magic Accuracy +2.
i dont even
i assume it's the whole "affinity vs staff bonus" thing where affinity is added to atma bonus when calculating magic damage and ele staff bonus is located elsewhere in the formula?
edit: cuz i dont wanna look stupid and don't know the formula for magic damage on a whim
My woodworking skill is 29, that is not high enough to attempt the Staff. So probably on the higher end of the 30s since it requires novice skill.
Water II with INT+5 : 274 or 301 (+10%)
Water II with Staff : 315 or 345 (+15% staff bonus, no effect of Day)
Water II with Staff and Rainstorm: 315, 345, 378, or 408 (+15% staff bonus, +10% for day, +20% or +30% for day and weather?)
For the record, I nuked through three full MP bars with day/weather and only saw two 408s. The proc rate may be pretty low, or it might simply be the odds of me seeing three independent +0.1s at the same time.
Burned another MP bar without day. It looks like the update notes were correct about it only affecting weather.
Byrth, I'm totally confused by your post. I see that you're concluding that day does not affect Iridescence, but are you making any statement about whether Iridescence proc is guaranteed on weather, when weather bonus procs? Based on previous posts, it sounds like the answer is yes, I just want to confirm that that is the case (because the BG wiki article is currently unclear on this point).
