Pretty much sided with Jill Stein more on everything that mattered to me except the economy where every answer we chose was almost the opposite.
Who is this Gary Johnson fellow? A lot of people seem to be getting him and on the general state map, he was in the lead/contention in almost every state. Is the site just his propaganda machine?

Is it bad that I have never even heard of "Jill Stein" until I opened this thread?

Republican Alert! Run the other way!

I kid, I kid..but I was curious whether or not any of the few republicans on this site would post their results. Or if any of the democrats would be surprised to have republican thoughts.

If it hadn't been for the Colbert Report, I probably would have no idea who Gary Johnson is.

I don't blame anyone for voting the way they do. It's all about who covers what you're interested the most.

lol I almost hesitated.. but most people who have spoke to me on the forums know how I feel.

People act like everyone who votes republican is a right wing nut job that is religious, hates gays and is against abortion.. even when I tell people I'm somewhat socially liberal they say things like you can't pick and choose or hide behind bipartisan opinions as if you vote for a republican then you must 100% agree with everything they say or you're evil. The reason I could vote for someone I disagree with on religion, abortion etc is because I don't care all that much about it, to the people who solely focus on it they can't seem to understand.

In my ideal world the Republican party will advance in years to come, they will stop focusing time and money on personal issues like abortion, gay marriage or other beliefs based on religious history and focus all their energy into things that matter. The worst part about those other "issues" is they will never be overturned they just can't seem to let go of their religious beliefs.

Problem is... they won't. That is how they get their votes. Because their constituents care very much about those issues. That's part of the reason I dislike the republican party overall. They care way too much about social issues and want to turn is back towards the 1920's and care too much about the rich and cutting taxes.

    Tea Party etc.

It's the party lines that have been drawn that cause such huge disparity between what republicans believe and what the world thinks republicans believe.

Mainstream media just wants to create conflict for ratings, so they perpetuate the political bickering because it makes them money. I was talking to a guy a few days ago about how the media creates just about every social issue that politicians weigh in on. He used to work for NBC as a high up engineer. While he was there, he saw many different occasions when the real issue got thrown out for a nice interview with some standoffish senator or judge that supposedly represented the people whose issues they were supposed to be talking about. Except the discussion rarely had anything to do with the real issue (AIDS and Gang Violence were prevalent at that time). It was a great discussion and he articulated very well just how little the people of this nation have to do with what issues are talked about by politicians.

There's a word for what I am talking about. It's when someone sparks a discussion about something to create a conflict that then blows up into a full blown political issue that the public at large had no knowledge of or even cared about prior to said discussion.

Take Romney's personal financial portfolio for example.

It's about what I expected it to be. Most important topics for me are keeping the government out of our lives and letting the private sector do its thing.
