I never heard of Jill Stein before today... Too bad she doesn't stand a chance.

if this thread can be taken as an indication, a green vs libertarian system would at least be more representative to the population ...
alas, elections are decided by campaign donors.
Well, on these forums anyways. I answered honestly but I'm sure lots of people would answer the questions to get the answer they wanted.
I think the 2 party system is the worst aspect of politics right now and we would all be in a much better place if people voted based on the issues instead of the party system. I don't know how it can happen but I hope the 2 parties go away soon. I agree with what Quannum said too.
So how many people who got Green Party as an answer will go and vote for the Green Party in November
fwiw I also got Green Party
Probably the only reason to vote is for local stuff. Because in reality a vote not for the 2 parties is a throw away vote.
And it's because of that impression that the system perpetuates itself. I'd encourage everyone to go vote for whoever they want to win this fall, rather than constraining yourself to a 2-party system. It's true that not picking Obama or Romney will likely mean that you didn't pick the winner, but it would send a pretty clear message if Democrats/Republicans start pulling only 75% of the vote. Plus, it isn't like we're betting on horses.
nothing serious can be done till there's campaign finance reform (or more generically get money out of politics). and nothing will be done there until americans get educated on the issue. and thats where I laugh or cry everytime.
I'd vote for an independent if i could so from my computer. Otherwise my state is obviously voting for obama, and there's zero reason to even bother voting, since nothing will change that. And even if it could, i wouldn't want to anyway.
Yay apathy!
The immigration questions needed more options than the ones offered.
I agree with that.
