Oh, thanks for posting that! I was going to but I guess I felt a bit awkward plugging my own videos. The guy in the hood is Urianger, he was in some of the earlier missions, he's the guy who'd pop up to say cryptic things.

I also have all of the GC quests uploaded, but you'd have to skip around if you just wanted to see the cutscenes without the fights/npc dialogue/whatever so yeah. I also have all of the main scenario and videos of a lot of 1.0 content as well. I'm trying to create a sort of archive of 1.0 stuff that you won't be able to see/experience after 2.0.

Oh also yay Cichy's videos are from Ul'dah company. It seems like you really need to see the cutscenes from all 3 to really get the full story.

oh ok.. i was just about to edit my post to say i figured it out..

Urianger and Louisoix both don't seem to be in the mood for celebration unlike the rest of the Circle of Knowing members. I take it Louisoix's tattoo is on his forehead instead of neck lol.

I didn't finish WotG. Though spoiled it for myself and know certain things about it, I still can't draw a connection between that and Darnus disappearing into crystal dust. Could someone explain that one to me?

The connection between WoTG & XIV people are drawing so far is based only on vague NPC dialogue about Dalamud being evil incarnate, the vague explanation the new trailer gives us about time travel and the fact that they've added an Atomos model (a copy & paste of the living Cavernous Maws from XI) to XIV's DATs

So basically, the only solid potential connection is the Atomos model and even that could just be recycling. Anything's possible. The idea that FFXIV's Eorzea is part of Vana'diel somehow is as old as our knowledge of the game. Still, a lot of things would have to be explained (read: retconned) to make it the same world and I don't see it being worth the effort.

They've already recycled the models/designs of Mandragoras, Imps, Goobbue, Bats, Wolves, Titan, Mammets, Apkallu, Goblins, Birds, Peistes, Opo-opos, Qiqirn, Raptors, and the 5 races from XI... Cait Sith and Atomos models don't automatically push the game over into WotG story.

Since this is FFXI HD, I wouldn't mind there being some loose explanation for the similarity of the races. Of course, I'd have rather had unique races to begin with, but that boat has sailed.

Gonna go with the file name on the 2nd (admittedly) fansite and say it's a generic succubus and not Lilith. Considering, y'know, there's multiples of it.

There might be some sort of unique Succubus named Lilith as an homage (well, I mean it's not like the name Lilith is unique to Final Fantasy)

I duoed it as PLD with a WHM friend. It's pretty tough... you're not going to solo it.

The Magitek one and up are when they become party based, the rest and main storyline ones are soloable.

Watching a couple of cutscenes in the inn and noticed some interesting things:

• There are two versions of the CS with Cid (just prior to starting the fight). They've got a vastly different tone. Any idea what triggers one over the other?
• I was watching the final battle CS's while on miner, and watching him go into active mode was pretty funny. But then he eventually held the pickaxe like a weapon, something you don't really have any other way of seeing. Then it bugged out, with my pickaxe back on the back at the sledgehammer sticking backwards through my upper arm. Strange!
