they did show part of the finger leroy but they cut it off before the second knuckle so they wouldn't have to censor it -- the idea was that they wanted the context to show it was the middle finger, not the actual shot. The thing is on TV if they show the whole finger they have to fuzz it out -- by cutting it off before the rest of the finger was shown they got around that rule. But again, the viewer knew what was up.

ya. that's what made the shot so brilliant -- they cut it just enough to not have to completely bleep it out and ruin the subtlety of the gesture, but kept enough of it that the viewer could use the context of the situation to know what harvey was doing, which is what made it such a funny and smart scene.
