Sera, you know you agree with me all the time. Don't front.
You think too similarly to me, though you may not be as smart!![]()
Anyway I guess all I'm sayin is I get to do what I love and make money, it would seem kinda cunty to expect him to do something with his life that he can't stand/isn't passionate about/would be bored with just so I can drive a nicer car. I just want him to be happy doing what he loves.
Note that I was fine doing shit I hate just to make it through the day. <_<
I LOVE BEIN A NURSE AND MAKIN MONIES
NOW GO BE AN ACCOUNTANT BECAUSE MY DIAMOND NEEDS TO BE BIGGER
what a good wife
i'm not satisfied with him just staying busy to make it through the day without killing his coworkers
i want him to love what he does and be happy.
he originally considered accounting just because he can do it in his sleep, but idk he didn't seem particularly jazzed about it. tbh, and i'm saying this completely objectively (i swear) -- he's really GOOD at game design and mechanics. He thinks of things in a really unique way and has a very creative thought process when it comes to problem-solving. I picture him (hopefully) being a consultant of some sort -- a guy who gets called to give input when a game just isn't working correctly - to give ideas and solutions to help solve the problem. He was already doing this with a guy from a game company at an event he went to for his writing gig recently. The guy told him he needed to "hurry up and graduate." Stuff like that makes me smile.
He really is talented at it -- and I guess I understand -- I'm not bragging by any means but I'm very talented at my profession and I truly enjoy it. Everyone deserves to be able to do what they're good at and be happy.
I mean, yeah I will hit you up. But my case in point is if you take out 50+k in loans and have low job prospects the cost benefit of the degree is low and the problem with student loan debt is that it cant be forgiven via bankrupcy like all the other debt out there. So if you get this degree, it doesnt land you a job and you have to make 300+ dollar month payments on it, sooner rather than later you are going to end up fucked. They will start docking your paychecks while jacking up interest rates and they will take every tax return you get. It is a really dangerous path to go down and I highly discourage it to anyone pursing higher education.
Agreed. Mandatory: You stupid pigslut.
This is 100% true to the fullest. Wait till you meet the chicks in sales, omfg. I hate being a sales manager already. Being a professional sucks sometimes because if I want to move up I cant even bang the sales chicks in other regions :/
Money, despite its bad rap in western culture is a very neccessary part of life. I take it you haven't been saddled with debt in the 40k range. I have, it isn't fun. On top of that, you have to have money to retire. For our generation it is going to cost about 2.5m to retire per person. With a 80k a year job (which is what most people consider decent money) you wont save that up for a VERY long time unless you plan accordingly and are frugal as fuck. If you make less than that, you are pretty much fucked. Especially if you are on the east coast. You sack of shit.
It is about way more than diamonds and cars. It is about retirement, putting kids in private schools, living in a nice neighborhood, not having to worry about debt, giving money to causes which you believe in (HURR DURR LETS BUY ME GETTING UNBANNED LOL). Live a meager life with a meager income and none of these are a reality. I define meager as anything less than 100k/yr in the midwest and 150k/yr in NYC.
Ok, check this. I am really fucking talented at sales. Do I want to do it, not particularly. Having to meet sales goals in the upper 25m every year is fucking hard and competitive in this economy. If I lived in a socialist utopia I would probably be a professional mma fighter as that was the passion I felt so deeply about when I was in college and still love training to this day. Thing is, one pays the bills and the other doesn't. Good thing is, I can sell in my sleep, so I do that, I persuade people for a living and I do the other stuff for fun. Sure, if I can create a business around my hobbies that would be excellent and it is something I look forward to doing. But I cant do it without the capital from the job that is in actual demand in the economy. Which is how a captialist system works, you get paid for what the market demands (I know you probably already know this but I am stating it for the rest of the individuals in the forum).
noooooooooooo phone center work, please say it is sales at least, inbound sales
Good day to be away from the board. Got to come home to so many lols
for real though, for profit schools are almost always a bad idea. Full Sail has some cachet with being good at game design or graphic design or something like that so if that's what you are doing that is cool but the for profit institution is designed to fuck you in the ass as priorities 1 2 and 3. Giving you a good education comes begrudgingly after the point where they can't make more money off you by fucking you in the ass a bit more
lol
fuck help desk though, did that kind of shit for 7 years and I don't think I can go back. glorified customer service, god I hate people so much.
that shit ate my soul I swear I used to be so jolly and laid back, forced me to come to spam and rage out on everything constantly, so bitter and cynical 7 years later. hate almost everything.
