Opening doors for myself? I applied for a number of writing positions before and got flat out denied. I later put on my resume that I'm going to school for game design and suddenly people respond. No one has "helped" place me in a job ever, period. The only door I ever had opened for me turned out to be some guy running some lame ass scheme with leasing copiers. I don't want to do sales, and like I said I have no problem doing shitty work to lead to something better, but quite literally the only networking I've ever accomplished has been a byproduct of going to this school.
Well the rate of debt growth is what is important. Public schools are like, what, 2-3k/semester? How much is your school?
I think that going to a for-profit school so it can be resume filler is a catastrophically bad decision. That debt cant be extinguished with bankrupcy and if you cant get a job from the school you are going to that earns you annually what is the totality of your student loan debt then you should not go to school.
I wanted to go to law school, I took the LSAT, got a 165 and got into some good schools. The cost of Law School was 150k after 3 years. I was going to earn around 70k/yr. I decided to pass up on that opportunity and move on with my career. I gotta run but Im going to be in the car for a lil bit of time, I will pm you my number and if you feel up to it I would love to chat about this further.
My costs per semester are 5-6K
So 50k to grad, not to mention any other loans you take out for personal purposes. That is some shit bro.
Aiight, nigga gotta bounce, holla at ya boy, check ya pms
The thing with law school is that it's a fucking lottery more than anything else, if you're not going to one of the top schools you're just going to in debt yourself and waste your fucking life. Even then you need to be lucky enough to even get a chance at working for one of the top firms in the country, which, I'm sure you know there are not very many spots. And then once you get there enjoy 80+ hour billed weeks working for them in an attempt to make partner. That shit is a miscarried dream. Fuck that shit. I think 95% of the people who think about/end up going into law are seriously misinformed/retarded.
And then you have all these washed out jaded lawyers in the public sector, fucking over the public because they're alcoholics and hate life.
the system is v broken right now so going to school for p much anything seems like a lost cause when you compare it to debt incurred vs job market etc
Odon I have a newfound respect for you (well I really didnt know you until recently). But anyways, everything you just said is true as fuck.
This isnt true, Business, Medicine, STEM, any of those majors will yeild profit upon graduation with a Bachelors. When we are talking about shitty obscure majors from for profit schools then yes, it is a waste and you shouldn't go.
I plan on making fat stacks in the biomedical engineering field.
Milad, if I make a company will you run it for me?
Get off mine nigga
nigga your nuts aint worth hanging on.
Sup Rhinox
Excuse me, i before e motherfucker, that's elementary level shit, step your game up.
Also no -- they won't. Maybe if they attend top level schools, but those cost money too. If you're going to some shitty state school, you might not have a lot to pay back but good luck finding work.
Though at the moment, dosimetry is pretty hot and there are decent places to study that don't cost an arm and a leg.
