That infographic is enlightening.
I don't know if I would qualify each character as the same "type" of character each time. At least I wanted to believe that each soul had grown a little each time. (At least Tom Hanks' soul).
I bought the book and tried to read, but I keep putting it down, the writing is really... difficult because of the change of genre and complete change of style per vignette.
